Dobson finds his mojo… Bolden shows all-purpose value… C. Jones rising to the top

CJ is an animal. Simple as that. He's on the verge of having a special season. I see 12+ sacks and a lot of hurried throws as long as he stays healthy.

3 games 3 sacks, and he could have had a few more if he wasn’t held.

Still hate that Bolden gave up on that pass play..

Dobson is starting to look like he knows he belongs out there, you can see he's gaining confidence. He's just what we needed the last couple of years, should look good with DA and Gronk all out there at the same time, the first 2 weeks struggles will be but a long forgotten memory come Dec.

Dobson does look like a big dude out there, he could be a beast of a wr for NE.

More Dobson & Thompkins play, they will only get comfortable and gain more confidence. There is alot of talent there and Brady too will trust them more. Well needed 10 days off to practice and get insync.

Hopefully Dobson can be as fast as Moss, have the hands of Rice, and be as physical as Michael Irvin. That would be my Christmas wish :)

Dobson is hopefully only going to grow up physically and mentally as he matures.
He has been a super binky for me since the draft and watching youtube highlights.
Good stuff seeing some progress after Listening to the sky is falling for a week and a half

1. Dobson is the physical, tall, big play stud that this Pats offense has been looking for. First let me warn that it's going to take time but it looks like he will be a good one. Josh McD got his man in the draft.

PS I think you underestimate Thompkins. The kid is sneaky good. Not a guy who will ever dominate the score sheet but who will just put up good results. If he hits his ceiling I see a young Heinze Ward type of player. With Dobson we might have us a younger version of Demaryius Thomas.

2. I've always felt that Bolden held value. You don't jettison depth for nothing when the player is young, cheap, and a capable backup. Even if Bolden never turns into more than a rotation player he is valuable for the fact that he can spell tired or injured starters without the offense suffering too much dropoff in ability.

3. Chandler Jones is a BEAST. I think we all became aware of that during his promising rookie year. And as long as he remains healthy, I think we are seeing the emergence of a pro bowl caliber player. Once Jones hits his physical prime, we might be looking at an all-pro defender.

Nice observations Brady6. Does Brady have more confidence in Dobson than KT now? Seems he has been targeted more since being active.

For all the credit Chandler Jones is getting nobody is mentioning the guy on the other side of the line up from him that is outplaying him - Rob Ninkovich.

More targets doesn't necessarily mean more confidence.

I thought Dobson had a great game. 7 catches on 10 targets, and 4 for first downs? he/thompkins seem to have no problem getting open....and they looked to be in good sync with brady.

despite the 2 td's I thought Dobson looks more in sync with brady...afterall, Thompkins only caught 3-7 balls(although that number should go up with time)

once we get Gronk back next week, and eventually Amendola this offense should be fun to watch and make it even easier on the rookies.

I thought it was great watching the kids and Brady slowly getting on the same page through the first quarter. I thought it was pretty evident that Brady seemed unsure of the kids through the first few drives and slowly started realizing he could count on them. Once that first drive went for the td, I was half expecting the flood gates to open.

Bring back Gronk, another week of practice for the kids, and the way this d has been playing (albeit against poor-mediocre offenses), I think we have a legitimate dog fight on our hands next week. This is a team that lost to Miami. Given they lost on the road, I think we have a very good chance of walking in and punching them in the mouth. Keep Arrington the #$@€ off the outside (anyone else screaming at the tv over that?), and hopefully avoid the slow start and I think we match up well. The Atlanta d had nothing on the secondary we saw today. I think this week will prove to be a turning point for the kids abs Brady. Throw gronk and amendola back into the mix abs it seems the sky is the limit from this couch.

And did I mention that Arrington needs to stay in the slot? He looked terrible outside today, again. And he wasn't going up against anything close to the talent Atlanta will be trotting out there next week.

I think the exact opposite...Thompkins looks like he's made the adjustment to game speed....Dobson had a number of juggles and outright "shoulda beens" in this game...Brady hit him in stride on one play that was an easy snatch and catch and he still juggled it, (I forget the drive), but he came right back with a nice sure handed catch two plays later...then let a pass hit him in the hands and pop up on a throw he should have handled easily....I think he's adjusting to how fast the ball gets on him at this level...you don't run, turn and THEN see the QB make his throw, you have to be ready coming out of your break at this level, and I think he's a split second slow right now on some of these drops.

Dobson has Terrell Owens type potential. He'll be a beast, it's only a matter of time

And T.O. had some early drop problems as well (as did Jerry Rice and Chris Carter ).

Let's not forget, Marshall doesn't play in the greatest division in college football. His QB was awful and the competition not so great. So his adjustment was probably tougher than Thompkins' adjustment. Also, he's 3 years younger than Thompkins. Don't get me wrong, I love what Thompkins brings to the table, a very solid outside receiver. BUT I think Dobson has higher upside, it just may take him longer to get there.

Not for nothing, Dobson is on pace for 75 catches and Thompkins is on pace for 48. Not bad for a couple of rookies !

Most posters on this board would have cut Rice midway through his rookie season due to his bout of the dropsies.

There were many here who wanted Kevin Faulk cut asap.

Ninkovich has been great all season, he looks like he added some size and is much better against the run this year. I opened a thread last week highlighting Ninkovich, Gregory and Arrington, I have to think Belichick read it and said Brady6 is right we need to extend Ninkovich :)

What kind of WR is Dobson? I thought he was suppose to be an exclusive outside guy. But he looked real good going in motion and from the slot.
