Tom Brady Face ???

I guess you did not watch the game, because that is exactly what he did.

I would have liked to have seen him huddle with the coaches and players after a bad drive to figure out how to make things better. That is not what happened. He sat by himself and pouted. TB is a great passer but not a great leader.
I think your in the minority on this one. At least by people who matter.

Brady?s trust earned | Boston Herald

Yup. Didn't Drew Bledsoe's aunt to say something in the media about how Parcells was too hard on Bledsoe and that his screaming and yelling was counterproductive? I seem to remember this. I was surprised Bledsoe went back to Parcells in Dallas.

Yes

Parcells was notorious for having a short fuse. He was best friends with Bobby Knight and though I dont recall Parcells going ballistic like Knight in games, Parcells still did his fair share of swearing and yelling on the sidelines.

Charlie Weis was another one who doled out tough love.

TB is a diva. He has the chip on his shoulder of his draft position plus the ****iness of someone who has a few lombardis on the mantle. It's understandable...to some extent.

He is old enough to know that there are 22 guys on the field and no one guy can win a game let alone a championship. He is old enough to have something to contribute to the youngsters. Time for the GOAT to pull his thumb out of his mouth and lead this team. Otherwise his value to the franchise will plummet with his skills.

I disagree

1 player can win you a game (s) resulting in winning the ultimate game - a championship. Brady makes those around him better. The O line, WRs, TEs. Do you think Deon Branch or David Givens would be known withouit Brady? I dont.

Just asking ... this could be the year it fully develops. :p

You lost any credibility you may have had with that one.

Even a 92 year old grandmother in Swaziland knows that Parcells was the John McEnroe of NFL coaches.

Not at all.
Parcells always had a cussing, fiery mouth on him but he never employed the whiney, petulant child routine Brady does. The only infantile behavior we haven't seen from Tom is him throwing himself down on the field and pounding the turf with his hands as he's kicking his feet. Somehow if things don't go well against the vaunted Bucs D that reaction may be just around the corner. :D

We all know you are hoping so!

Those of you who mentioned O'Brien having it out with Brady last year, realize that O'Brien tore into a true freshman QB yesterday (blew up on the sidelines) for not throwing the ball away.

Is it the same if a coach chews out the player rather than a veteran with 13 years under his belt? Seems to me that players like Brady are quasi coaches on the field.

The biggest question I have about all the complaints is that it hasn't been established that Brady was yelling at Dobson on that inc. in the end zone. It could have been Edelman.

Got it.

Parcells = not petulant, not whiner
Brady = petulant whiner

So how many years have you worked at the Globe?

Exactly, we know Tom was mad, partially at the rooks but it could be something else. Tom learned alot from this game. So did the rooks. So now its up to them to apply that knowledge.

If you think Brady is being petulant you might want to watch Peyton Manning play sometime. Or - even better...watch Philip Rivers play sometime. I didn't care for some of what I saw the other night but he still comes nowhere close to those guys in that category. In fact most on field "coaches" are no different.

Nothing wrong with finding fault in Brady's play on the field, that's called being objective. But IMO this isn't worth criticizing. It's the same competitive spirit that makes Brady not even think twice about getting right in the face of the likes of Terrell Suggs or Ray Lewis and telling those guys off when the situation calls for it. Or playing the Super Bowl on a bad ankle. Taking that pay cut. Admitting his own faults. Or even the other night admitting he should control his body language (and I don't disagree with him). I could go on and on.

Leader.

Just because I think he should show a little more cool when times are tough like in Thursdays game doesn't mean I think he's a diva or that I think he is a bad leader or that I think he should be sat down or anything ridiculous like that. I just think that when times are tough and he's the the general on the battlefield, then he needs to show a little more self-control.

I also think that no quarterback, no matter how great—and Tom is a great quarterback who I wouldn't trade for any other quarterback in the NFL—is above a little honest criticism from time to time.

Threads like this make me realize that we really do have one of the worst fan-bases in the NFL. Bunch of spoiled children.

It amazes me that he doesn't pack it up and move onto another team. He would be showered with praise and appreciation by 95% of nfl teams and fanbases. When the Pats play home, the crowd is like a bunch of golf clapping, stuck up be-oches who turn their backs and leave at the slightest signs of struggle. Thankfully he doesn't read this forum either. Who gives a flying fvk if he lost it? For all I care who could have given all three rooks a 3 headed three stooges slap. Just keep playing with passion Tom.

Parcells = hard ass head coach
Picked his spots and picked on the players he knew could take it.
A master motivator who also tried to intimidate officials so he would get a call later in the game.

Brady = spoiled diva QB
Shows up teammates (particularly young players/rookies) on the field and acts out emotionally on the sidelines when things aren't going his way.
We've also seen the pouting Tom who sits by himself on the bench with a long sad face well before the game has been decided if things aren't going his way. See Jets and Ravens playoff games.

Without question, Tom Brady is a 1st ballot HOF QB. One of the all-time greats.

A leader of men???? Not so much.

You needed this thread to see that ...

I swear some people sit in front of their computer screen thinking what is wrong with the team and how can we fix it. why did Bill do this when he should have done that. Once in a while we get a this is what is going well thread ... but beware then the people who post in it are labeled Kool Aid drinkers.

You = clueless ingrate who wouldn't know a leader if Gen. George Patton rose from the grave and bit you in the ass. See: every post you've made in this thread and elsewhere.

Posts like this makes me realize you don't frequent other team's fan forum, or talk to other team's fans at all.
