The offense is a catastrophe

I'm a huge edelman supporter but star? Really?

At his best he is a high quality #2

Maybe my post was on the negative side of things but yours is a mile deep in the overly optimistic

If Amendola does not lead the NFL in receptions this year Edelman will. Yes that qualifies him as being a star.

We had no business winning that game and you know it.

The bills were missing their two best secondary players and have a mediocre defense to begin with.

We have one reliable target and he's a career #2 wr who has never been able to stay healthy.

Maybe catastrophe is an exaggeration but the playoffs bit is completely true as is the fact Brady has practically no help on offense.

Buddy, I've got two words for you. They're six foot six and weigh two hundred and sixty-five pounds. Any ideas?
The Bills had no business winning that game because even if Gilmore and Byrd played, if we had Gronk we would have put up 30+ points. Try and argue that with me, I dare ya.

If it were not the bills there is no way we come back to win in the fourth.

We blew that game and got bailed out at the end. Even with all
The bailouts we still barely won.

The fact that the rest of the AFC East is horrible is an enormous help for us.

Even with our current skill position players there is not one defense in the AFC East Brady can't put up a 35 spot on.

Have to agree with the OP, it is a disgrace that they haven't gotten any production out of the rookies at this point of the season, hard to see the patriots winning a game this season, 0-16 here we come. It's so bad i am going to sell my Bruins tickets. i don't think Dobson is going to score one goal.

You make absolutely no sense. You talk about being a disaster for the playoffs. Yet, you acknowledge that Edelman is a high quality #2.

If Edelman is a high quality #2/#3, and Amendola is this year's Welker (as he should be for the playoffs), then not only is the offense not a disaster, it will be one of the best offenses in the NFL. Our running game was #7 and is at least as good this year. Vereen should be a fine 3rd down back by the time of playoffs.

The only real question mark (other than health at the time of the playoffs) is whether one of the rookies can step up to be an OK #2/#3 receiver, or can at least do this by committee.
Of course, if they are ALL looking bad, we could re-sign Jenkins or Hawkins.

This is hardly a catastrophic offense.

Since we are all in complete exaggerating/panic mode around here I would like to note Edelman is on pace for about 1200 yards and 32 TDs.

Let me know when amendola plays as much as welker, Edelman turns into d Thomas, and gronk is 100%.

Best case gronk is 100% week 8
Edelman Will never come close
Amendola is almost definitely not playing full season.

And Vereen 1600 + yards on 226 carries.

You're completely ignoring a couple small facts.

We are down an all pro tight end in hernandez and who knows if gronk is ever at full strength this season. Amendola didn't even make it into the regular season before getting hurt and then he got ANOTHER injury. And to top it off vereen is out for at least FOUR weeks and Ridley got benched.

You do have every right to throw your pink hat directly into the trash, having won only one game all season they don't deserve your loyalty and support.

Yo, Tony! Chill out man! We're 1-0. Let's see what happens on Thursday before declaring anything a disaster.

So now Edelman will lead the league in receptions and break Moss' TD record by almost 10 scores :rocker:

And the Pats had a similar game week 2 last year (against an arguably worse team and the Pats lost) and went to the AFCCG last year. In 2003, the Pats lost the first game 34-0 to a team that went on to go 4-12 (the Bills) and the Pats ended up going 14-2 and winning the Super Bowl. The point is the first game of the season is no way to judge an entire season.

I have no idea why we are voted one of the worst fanbases in the NFL.

We had no business winning that game and you know it.

Pats had every business of winning that game and the defense was a big part of it.

Pats D
13 Buffalo Drives
9 punts forced (4 three and out)
2 forced fumbles
Only allowed 3 drives over 28 yards
Held Buffalo to 30 percent on 3rd down.
CJ Spiller held to 2.4 yards per touch.
Covered the unrecoverable Stevie Johnson to 3 rec 38 yards and 1 TD

Not to mention the Pats still ran 90 plays for 430 yards. It's not like the Bills held them to under 300 yards or something.

Pats just had two costly fumbles in the Buffalo Red Zone that made the game close otherwise Pats beat them by 10-14 points.

Amendola hurt his groin in the preseason. Seems he re-aggravated it on Sunday. It's not "another" injury as you say.

How about all the gifts given away? Its week one, look around the league, plenty of backs giving away possession, plenty of poorly thrown balls/miscommunication with receivers, plenty of bone head penalties (or adjusting to new "emphasis," dennard anyone?). On top of that, this wr/te group is relying on quite a few rookies. They aren't going to be fully up to speed.

Tompkins alone had a handful of plays that will certainly be corrected with reps and coaching. The break in the endzone, dotting the i on the sideline, bobbling a screen and then taking off to the middle instead of chasing the big boys, and some issues with stop routes. All easily corrected, and he seemed to have been doing these things right in preseason.

I would love to see boyce and Dobson active this week. Let's see if the higher Draft pedigree can outshine the National stage lights on a short week. They have exceptional tools, the question is really if they have the mindset to utilize them. This would also put TfnB in a spot similar to his career beginning. Spread the rock out and trust everyone to do their job.

Jerod Mayo is on pace for 240 tackle! Arrington for 32 forced fumbles!!!!!

Well, that is actually an understatement. With Amendola out, Edelman will now get 1400 yards and 48 TDs.

Eh... we don't need anyone to lead the NFL in receptions or have as many as Welker. Just catch and get as many yards and touchdowns as possible.

I'm not sure why people are moronic enough to believe extrapolating stats over a full season is any way shape or form comparable to evaluating personnel.

I did not say anything along the lines of "we only scored 20 points! Brady didn't have 300 yards!!". THAT would make your point actually make sense but all of our main weapons are injury prone and/or inconsistent.
