Think this important to look at going forward, if we can run this many plays in a game we will be hard to beat. Even though some of the mistakes today were very costly, if we can run this many plays teams will just be too tired to beat us in the 4th quarter.

We can run MILLION plays, as long as we dont execute it does not worth ****.

It may have really helped today, where we had an extra possession or two that potentially saved us.

I do think that it will be a nice benefit for the high majority of the time, as today was a bit of an off day due to turnovers and poor play on offense in some areas. There won't be too many times where we are inside of the 25 two separate times and come away with absolutely nothing.

There's no doubt that there is some serious truth to that like today, but as a whole it will likely benefit us throughout the season.

Adding an extra possession or two every game along with tiring the opposition out (and giving our defense added practice for those 6 games vs the hurry up) are nice things to have for the bigger picture.

Most games won't have us playing so sloppily.

BTW, I see you're from Columbus. I used to live in Worthington and my first cousin is the sax player for a pretty well known rock band who hails from OSU and owns a store in the DP dough chains, so I know the area well.

Ps--go bucks ;)

I at various times lived with my parents in Upper Arlington, and visited them at points north and northwest -- the unincorporated area just north of 270, an assisted living facility on Riverside Drive in Dublin, etc.

That said, I'm one of the few people to ever transfer from UCLA to Ohio State, and was fairly grudging about it. Indeed, I opened a leftover bottle of champagne when UCLA upset OSU in the 1976 Rose Bowl. :)

I think it's a pretty nice area, as far as that part of the country goes.

I'm sure coming from UCLA wasn't easy! :D

So if i understand correctly we were executing today?

You know this isn't as simple as a yes or no answer. I think we saw a lot to like out of the offense, even with the uneven play and turnovers. In a few weeks they'll be adding Gronkowski back into the mix which is a noticeable upgrade to both the running and passing game. When he's back, if Tompkins is still a nightmarish mix of Chad Johnson and Brandon Llyod's quirks and everyone keeps trading turns dropping the ball we will have good reason to worry. Until then, I think it is too early to judge the whole group.

That's great, you couldn't keep me away from the buffer zone from 2009-2011. Something happened to the recipe and I don't quite enjoy them as much, still a great place that I go to once a month or so. I'm always over in Graceland, so I know Worthington pretty well, I like all the northern suburbs of Columbus. Cool to see someone on here from the area.

Teams that go 3 and out tend not to have a high number of plays. That is simple math. The execution was far from flawless yesterday, but the Pats had more first downs than the much celebrated Broncos in their rout, and almost as many yards (70 fewer). Teams are not given first downs.

The points taken off the board (and 23 points is not exactly an awful point total by NFL standards - 12 teams yesterday scored more points than that) were largely due to turnovers. The Pats are not usually negative in turnovers, and it showed. I have no doubt the Pats will fix that particular problem in one way or another (fix the player or bench the player) as the season progresses.

I really wish NE would run more play-action. They have a very good running game, so teams have to respect it. It seems like every time they run play-action, good results follow. But they don't run it as much as I think they should.

And, again, the turnovers were all unforced. Ridley's fumble - untouched. Brady fumbling the snap - untouched. And the interception was a deflected ball that Sudfeld should have caught and took a weird bounce right into the hands of the Bills' defender.

It's one thing if the other team causes a turnover (like the Pollard hit on Ridley last year in the AFCCG). It's another thing when they're completely unforced. I can't imagine the Pats not shoring that stuff up. It's just good that they won the game when they had three of those unforced turnovers.

I'm fine with us doing this, but Brady shouldn't be throwing 52 times a game.

Maybe. But if they run 89 plays, a lot of them are going to be throws. Heck, they ran the ball 35 times yesterday. Only one team this week had more rushing plays than the Patriots (Tennessee, with 42). That's it.

This is telling and bears repeating. We RAN the ball more than almost anyone in the league.

its not significant unless its a manning or broncos. If they did it, it would be the offensive genius breakthrough .

It is too bad that we were limited in our hurry-up because of the lack of 2 TE's and a downfield RB who knew the plays. Otherwise, we might have had 100 reps.
