Morning Huddle 9/4: Dobson Gets Some Criticism, Patricia Pleased With Talib, Today's Links
By: Ian Logue

In today's entry we look at some criticism that Aaron Dobson received recently, Aqib Talib gets some praise from defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, and this morning's media links....

Dobson hasn't been great, but 9 passes from Tebow has to include a few ground balls.

I dont get the "Dobson under fire" headline. I thought someone from the pats called him out rex ryan style.

Brady is 4 for 6 throwing the ball to Dobson - of course a receiver who doesn't get great separation and a quarterback like Tebow who is very inaccurate are going to have a hard time completing passes.

If Dobson had been playing better, he'd have spent more time with Brady and less time with Tebow.

Point well taken. Rookie receivers performance is likely to be uneven in a complicated system. I'll prefer to say "half full" and appreciate the surprising performance of Thomkins for now. There's no doubt Dobson has not been fighting for balls as he should at his size, so we'll see.

Dobson when he played with Brady other than that blown route which you could argue was pass interference because the defender blocked his route (although Dobson should have ran a better route). It is hard to judge him on his preseason play with Tebow because Tebow just sucked.

Dobson is clearly behind Thompkins, but I think he is getting a bit of a bad rap because of poor QB play. I still think he can be effective immediately in what was the Stallworth role in 2007. The first or second guy off the bench with a specific package of plays.

I think expectations were too high on this guy immediately. I have to say mine were. I thought he could be a good #2 WR right off the bat, but he might be a good #3 or #4 WR right off the bat now.
