Tebow's Twitter post from 22 mins ago...

"I would like to thank Mr. Kraft, Coach Belichick, Coach McDaniels and the entire Patriots organization for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such a classy organization. I pray for nothing but the best for you all. I will remain in relentless pursuit of continuing my lifelong dream of being an NFL quarterback.

2 Corinthians 12:9:

And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.”

Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me."

Unless you're a religious bigot, or you believe he's not genuine about his faith (I believe he is), I don't see how you cannot root for this kid...

Fortunately, Tim Tebow has a stock of Biblical verses for getting cut:

Tim Tebow tweets Scripture after Jets release him

So many of you talk about how Tebow is an annoynace, yet become willingly self-ensconced in the very ****storm you so fervently 'despise'.

90% of this board are morons.

There are lots of guys who have said similar things today "I'm going to keep trying, thanks for the support and the opportunity". Seriously, Twitter is full of those types of quotes from similarly bad or long-shot players today.

There are a lot of bad players with good attitudes in the NFL. I don't see those other guys with legions of fans following them from team to team.

There's only one reason Tebow continues to have a big fanbase outside of hardcore Florida fans. Let's not kid ourselves about what that is. If he were simply a good guy with a refreshing attitude and not overtly and egregiously religious, few people would continue to care about him.

This what I dont understand. Whats wrong with other ppl following their "hero's"? I'm sure many players that have been cut, have a following. Prolly not as large. Why hate someone because they're liked so much? Even if you dont agree with it. We all know TT is not a good QB. When he plays badly, he gets cut. How is that hurting anybody? I dont get it.

On that note, it appears Marcus Fortson got the seat next to Tebow on the 330pm flight to Florida..

Marcus Forston ✔ @Forston99
We have to keep our Heavenly Father first! Through it all he still gets the glory

See I don't mind the briefer thoughts such as Forston's, but Tebow almost seems pushy. And this is coming from a Catholic poster who does believe in God.

I respect Tebow's commitment to his faith, I just worry that it turns some people off at the same time due to seeming a bit over the top.

That said, everyone is different in what they believe so I guess I really shouldn't be questioning any of it. I do have respect for Tebow being a "good guy" though. It's much better than some of the thugs like Cromartie, etc..

It's because of his outward expression of faith. Lots of folks are wildly hung up about it. Quite sad really.....for them.

Glad he's gone, though I think it's admirable that he wants to keep pursuing his dream even when it seems clear to all that he's not good enough.

That's because he's an honest guy!

Yup!! :D

He also did not tell Sexy Rexy and Co. that he would "pray for nothing but the best for you all".

Tim is a very honest guy isn't he.

Re: Mods pulled the plug before Last Rites could be delivered

Is this true? Are the mods not compensated? Just curious. I assumed the ads supported more than the cost of the server and bandwidth.

Honestly I do not have any idea if the moderators get paid, or what the books look like for the site as far as profit/loss, I said the site is a free site, meaning you did not have to pay to sign up, that wasn’t to imply the moderators are free. If I had to guess they probably volunteer their services and the ads, and donations cover the yearly expense. I do not know Ian personally we’ve interact a few times in here but I sincerely believe his sole intentions for this site was to build a great place for fans of his favorite team to interact, based on the fact there is no mandatory membership fee, despite the fact I believe most would pay it if there was one I do not think this site is designed for profit, I also have heard Ian make mention of having to work on particular days, so he does not appear to be at home laying on a king size bed layered in $100s as he uses his diamond encrusted iPad to shutdown Tebow threads. I could be wrong though, but as a I said from the limited interaction I have had with him and the way others describe him he sounds like a real nice guy who basically keeps this site going for all of us to have someplace nice to come and talk Patriots.

All that withstanding, even if this site was going to turn every moderator into Mark Zuckerberg, what I said about the post being unnecessary still holds true, whenever a site offers an open door policy to any moderator thru the use of a personal message there is really no conservable reason to open a thread putting them on blast, it shows a lack of appreciation for all the good and positives this site and its moderators offer in my opinion. When I was 18 years old I was a punk who would overact to everything and if something happened it would be “I hate the entire thing” or “that place sucks”. Then I joined the military and I deployed overseas and it took me 1 week to learn that no matter how annoyed you are with a particular situation you do not **** on the whole entity, you need to have the wherewithal to separate isolated events or circumstance from what the place or person actually stands for, if I had walked around screaming I hate Iraq, I would be dead right now, I had to understand it was not Iraq that I hated, it was situations and circumstance. That is something I try and carry with me everyplace I go in life, that way if someone says something negative in here I can separate disliking a particular post, or closing of a particular thread, and disliking a poster or moderator, in a nutshell it is being able to separate behaviors from the person itself.:)

Oh no, first TT is a horrible QB taking a valuable roster spot. Now he's leading a religious army to take over the world. Too funny. Some of you guys belong on JI or GG. This place is really accumulating some winners.

I did not see or read about Tebow’s exit yet, was it over the top?

Said from day 1 that unless Tebow improved as a passer, he wasn't going to make it on this team.

He didn't, so he didn't.

Who said either of these things, I think you misunderstood, “if he made the roster he would be taking a valuable roster spot” which was what people said in reference to the 53 man roster, being that Tebow is not on the 53 man roster that “if” never became an “is”.

As far as a religious army I am absolutely clueless to what you’re even talking about, because I have not heard anyone suggest that in this thread or any of the others, if you’re debating that Tebow is extremely flamboyant in showing his faith, even excessive I would have to disagree with you, because he clearly is and I think his best friends would agree.

For the record, no matter how you feel, your last sentence was not necessary and only served to diminish any validity in what was trying to be conveyed.

I just have a problem with the parts of his religion he chooses to promote. He's supported beliefs which I hope he's just merely ignorant about in as far as the damage they do to human dignity.

Can you fill us in on some of these causes he promotes? Specifically the ones he promotes that damage human dignity?

LOL, no, I work full time like everyone else and have to take on additional projects here and there to pay the bills, mortgage, etc. One thing I'll say is don't ever start a forum hoping to get rich. As it grows it costs a lot and requires a lot of effort to keep it up and running - especially during the period I spent trying to figure out how to eventually handle the game day issues we used to have, which was incredibly frustrating. But as long as it sustains itself and the time I put into the site doesn't irritate my wife any more than it already does, it will continue to be here because I love doing it and can't imagine it any other way. I'm just not looking forward to when the day comes and the team isn't winning 10 or more games each year and contending for a title. Can't even fathom how some people in here are going to handle an eventual sub .500 season

I appreciate your efforts man! It is an awesome site for interactions and also an amazing resource for self education on football.

We're all fortunate that you had the vision and the execution to make PatsFans a reality. For what its worth you have my sincere gratitude, I spend most days in the air or on a layover, this site offers me a level of interaction others in my profession don't have.

Time for another shoutout to you, Ian, for all of the things that you do. Your hard work and patience are amazing. We're all in your debt. And anyone who can afford to become a VIP member but hasn't yet ... shame on you!

Re: Mods pulled the plug before Last Rites could be delivered

We are only compensated by love.
And my undying appreciation :)

We probably owe a lot more gratitude to Ian than we suspect.

This place doesn't work without everyone who comes here and makes it a good place to talk football, or the mods behind the scenes that help keep this place from becoming a free-for-all. If you knew what they went through and all the "report" emails that come in every day from everyone, you'd be amazed what they go through :ugh:.

So considering I'm just like everyone else in here, there's no gratitude needed. Kevin Rousseau and I had a funny discussion years ago where he said, "I was so excited to meet 'the Ian Logue from PatsFans.com', and now that I know you, you're just a boring guy like the rest of us and it really shouldn't have been that exciting." So there you go ;)

I'm far more thankful each day for all of you that hang out here each day and hopefully we'll have a good season and will have some fun discussions here in the coming weeks. One week from tomorrow it all begins :)
