Does not look good at all.

I suspect MCL minimum. So out for a few months? Tough break for Keller. Good player.

That is two teams that really need a TE now.

Yeah, I was just thinking that but quality depth (at a positions where we have had injury history and question marks) might be worth than any picks. This could drive up the price on a guy like Fells though with 2 teams desperate.

Man, that was a rough hit. Best of luck to him.

Too bad he doesn't have Tedy's gumby joints.

Feel sorry for the guy, always thought he was a half-decent TE.

Miami already has a worse OL than last year this will not be good for them.

Ironically, this was posted less than two months ago. How Aaron Hernandez's release could affect AFC West - ESPN

The Patriots may be in need of help at tight end with Hernandez gone and Rob Gronkowski a major question mark because of injuries. The free-agent market is very weak at tight end, thus the Patriots may be forced to seek a trade.

I think both Denver and Kansas City should call the Patriots and see if they can take advantage of the team’s hole at the position. I think Denver could potentially dangle Joel Dreessen and Kansas City could potentially offer Tony Moeaki. Both players are better than any option the Patriots currently have.

A pathetic bunch indeed. Just phucking pathetic

It looks like a very nasty injury indeed. His season looks like it's over and I hope the poor guy can make a healthy return next season. It's never nice to see any player go down with these kind of injuries.

Tests confirmed it, he's done for the year.

Feel sorry for Keller, but no sympathy for the LOLphins.

Direct shots to the side of a planted knee should be a penalty IMO. There's no need to hit someone there unless you are actually trying to injure someone.

Far more dangerous than just about any called "hit on a defenseless receiver" flag. Very cheap shot by Swearinger(?).

Is that still the same 'wonderful' turf in Houston that Welker blew out his knee on, or did they change it?

Defender says he went low because if you go high you get fined. I think we are going to see more injuries like this going forward unfortunately

If you hit a player in the head you get fined, dumb excuse for thug hit.

He could have hit him in the Hip or Chest and completed the tackle, but no he went for the cheap shot to the Knee to put Keller out for the year.

Law of unintended consequences. Agree with ex-players on NFL radio that we're gonna see more knee ACL etc. injuries because players are having to target lower. Not every play, not every 10th play but they'll move their target zone.

What's worse for the player he was in a 1 year "prove it" contract. Career could be at risk. Next year's salary, if any, will be far lower than had he had a decent 2013. Recovering from ACL, he'll command far less $ and another short prove it gig.

I just saw this in the 'Pats Beat Writers' box above ^ and to the right:

Dolphins TE Dustin Keller tore his ACL, MCL, PCL and, as if that weren't enough, dislocated his knee

Dustin Keller did almost as much damage as you can possibly do to your knee.
Tore 3 of 4 ligaments and dislocated knee cap.
Ouch
