Dennard arrested for DUI

I don't know if I would cut him for this. He would have a short leash though.

Re: dennard arrested

Maybe, the Pats need to hire some police to follow some of these guys around. It is very clear, that when these guys are on their own time, the Patriots TRUST them to do the right things off the field. Clearly, some of these players CAN NOT be trusted.

Many or them, including Dennard are not responsible adults; they are over-indulged, selfish, entitled children.

I don't know what to say about Hernandez. Murder, if he is guilty, is a whole different category of evil.

Maybe he will be traded instead of cut? He has too much value to cut. It is not comparable to the Hernandez situation, no team was going to trade anything of value for a guy doing life in prison.

Second year player coming off of a trial where he was charged with assault on a police officer, gets probation, and subsequently gets a DUI. How much do you think the team could get for him in a trade? It makes more sense that he gets cut, if any reprucussions were to come down from the team on this.

Even before this I would have felt a little better if they had signed a DRC, Asumough, or Grimes as another layer of depth. Not saying they are great but all 3 signed low risk deals. With the money BB gave arrington he should be able to step right in on the outside but my eye tell me a different story. Obviously BB likes what arrington brings to the table.

what an idiot

that said, people should not judge him based on recent other stories regarding pats player(s)

He has already violated the terms of his parole by breaking the law. The judge who granted him parole was being lenient in postponing his imprisonment but now may come down hard on him.

If I were the Patriots, I would act aggressively and cut him. This coming on the heels of a horrendous scandal is the very last thing the organization needs, and they need to react quickly to show that they stick to their principles, no matter what.

Boy, what a summer this has been!

Thanks, that's what I thought.

I think the OUI alone might not lead to being cut, but in the context of a) how this affects his prior sentencing; b) maybe being yet another Pats player who, thankful for a second chance, still couldn't stay out of trouble; and c) timing ... I don't see this ending well. I don't think he'll be cut today or anything, and that the Pats will see how some of the process plays out, but I don't think this ends well for him.

Don't cut him, he's a starter playing on a 7th round rookie deal. Suspend him for a few games and 'call Giant Glass' (Dowling).

Even given just the injury issues the team had at CB last year and how the season ended, the team should have at least went after Grimes. Very low risk there and the money would have been right. As for BB liking what Arrington brings to the table, I agree... as a nickelback. If he lines up outside, it's bad news.

Given how this moron with money and access for a RIDE acted, the Pats Org needs to give serious consideration to calling all players together and telling them not to commit murder. The players seem that dense.

Nevermind the fact that he is on PROBATION already. Some people are so dumb and literally never learn. I guess he felt he hadn't lost enough already. My God, I cannot believe this!

Seriously, the amount of stupid involved here is off the charts. DUI itself is incredibly dangerous and stupid. When you're on probation already and facing jail time it's really stupid. Coming on the heels of the Hernandez situation it's REALLY stupid.

Cut the guy now, not because he can't help the team (he's a good player) but because he has to be one of the stupidest human beings on the planet, given all that. Unconscionable.

I'm sick of all these morons on our team. Even if Dowling isn't ready, throw Logan Ryan on the outside, F-U Dennard.

Hernandez
Lloyd
Dennard

Continue the purge.

Ryan is going to have a hell of a learning curve in the NFL, particularly on this defense. Rutgers played a very zone-heavy scheme on defense and this team was starting to show a ton of looks in man coverage. He may not be ready yet. Dowling has spent two years in the system (most of it on IR). He should know the system more than Ryan does at this point, and would have a leg up in the disappointing event that Dennard gets cut.

I can never remember if it's Logan Ryan or Ryan Logan. Guess I'll get plenty of opportunity to get it right in coming months.

The way things are going with these second-chance Pats, maybe they should have Talib report to camp early. Like, today. Keep him locked in a room somewhere at Gillette.

Dilemma for the Front office: Zero tolerance or rehab?
I am thorn 50-50, but I think Kraft might demand a cut seeing as his brand is getting soiled.

they need to hire a baby sitter.

at this point I feel like hes a Cut, we gave him the benefit of the doubt for hitting that cop, But with the season coming up soon, Hernandez on a murder spree, every patriot should know to be on their best behavior, so for him to be out alone at night possibly drinking and driving is inexcusable.

this off season can get worse. just keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't come out that other patriots players were using AH flopp house in some way.

I can't see them cutting him. Yes, I did face palm and my first reaction was CUT HIM! Then I sat here thinking about the team, the roster...we can not cut him. We are in the business of winning football games. Yes, we want good guys. But DUI is a mistake. No one was hurt (phew). Yes, he has a record but still, we can not cut him. We need him. We have to swallow this, suspend him, let Goodall suspend him...but we NEED him.

Our #1 weakness is CB.

A DUI suspension isn't the problem. The DUI while he's on probation? BIG problem. He's probably going to jail now. And do we really want someone that stupid on the team now?

At any rate, I think he doesn't get cut unless he goes to jail. And if he does go to jail, jettison his dumb ass.

Right about now, the Patriots would welcome all the Tim Tebow questions reporters have.

This will set a precedent. Let players get away with acting like jackasses endangering peoples lives, or set zero tolerance.

Cut him and have Brady & Wilfork scream the hell out of the 90 man roster on the first day of camp.
