I think its about time that media starts to answer for their part in this, if they continue down this path. Where were they? Why didn't they know? Their job is to follow this team and its players and they should have known that Hernandez was a bad guy. Where were the reports after last year's extension about how they were giving millions to a gang member? Where were the reports on how he was a drug user that was hanging with a bad crowd and getting into fights? This was their job and they didn't do it. They dropped the ball and need to be held accountable.

Apparently the senile writer is unaware that YES it was common practice to videotape opposing team's signals, etc. What an ignoramus posing as a reporter. My problem with most such reporters is that they actually know so little about their supposed area of expertise.

I've read this sooooo many times now:

An article last week in the Wall Street Journal noted that “shortly before the 2010 NFL Draft, a scouting service that prepares confidential psychological profiles of players for NFL teams found that Aaron Hernandez enjoyed ‘living on the edge of acceptable behavior’ and cautioned that he could become ‘a problem’ for his team.

And yet no one has asked, or answered the question: How typical or atypical is this? in other words, how many NFL players came into the league with such an assessment? I'd bet perhaps a few. Seems there's room for context to be added to the discussion.

It is not only common practice, it is legal to film and always was.

Spygate was about having the camera in the wrong spot. Which didn't become "the wrong spot" until 2005, AFTER the Pats won all their rings. Patriots haters tend to ignore that last part even after you tell them.

The media is chock full of absolute genius who never made mistakes in their lives. After all, it's pretty easy to say the Pats should have had Hernandez "followed" now that we all know he is being accused of multiple homicides.

However, I think now is the time for the same mediots to tell us all whom the Patriots (or any other team, for that matter) should hire P.I.'s to follow. Should they follow Talib? Should the Steelers follow Roethlisberger? etc

Jim Deuchaldson is the azzdongler that sits in on every post game press conference and tries to get BB to blow his stack by asking questions he knows Belichick wont answer. He does this week after week, year after year.Must be the highlight of his loser life.

You can tell BB and the Pats dont like Deuchey Dongaldson and I don't think too many in the media like him either.

The poor media! They are so maligned! Lets feel bad for them because some relatively unknown blogger calls them out on their hypocrisy.

Nobody circles their own wagon's better than the Boston media. The most obvious follow up question to all of this is how did not one of these media members know anything about Hernandez and his activities? Answer me that.

I think the other teams who now claim that Hernandez was off their board are the most hilarious. Where were these guys after the 2011 season when Hernandez had a breakout year?

I guarantee you that if Hernandez was a free agent this offseason before all the crap went down, most of these teams would have been fighting over each other to sign him.

Not only that, but you can be sure that there were several character issue guys that they did have on their board that other squads had removed. You will find handfuls of these types of players every year, Aaron is hardly the exception people want to make him out to be, at least from a pre-draft scouting point of view.

Of course, nothing is better than Polian bragging about how he had Hernandez off his board when he is the guy who selected Rae Carruth in the first round. :bricks:
