What are you guys going to do with your Hernadez jerseys?

For the record, it's not like there's this enormous outswelling of demand for Hernandez jerseys, with hundreds of them being bid up in price.

A lot of them are going for middling-to-low amounts of money (less than retail cost). I've only seen a handful at $100 or more.

It's been a week....Anyone who threw their jersey away is simply an absolute idiot.....

So you were advising that everyone throw their jerseys in the trash?

EVERYBODY LISTEN TO THIS GUY...HE'S GOT 20,000 POSTS, HE MUST KNOW BEST!!!

I will type s l o w l y for you.

Au contraire. I was the first to state the jersey could be a collectable. And it's probably not yet at its peak value.

Then, I said it's not worth it (money) because it the jersey and what it sadly has come to represent is trash. Money is not all that. Kraft also took that position cutting Hernandez and losing far more $ than he might have had he waited until a trial verdict.

I hope that this is a terse and simple enough explanation for you.

Some stuff is going for big $$ on there. More than usual

Probably bought by those same nitwits who are demanding his release from jail.

Hahaha, whatever makes you feel better.....

Does it really matter who buys it? The fact of the matter is that THERE WILL be a huge market for these in the coming weeks and years, and those who jumped to irrational emotionally driven decisions will have to live with the fact that they threw thousands of the dollars in the trash....

Oh yeah, maybe we could wait for the actual trial?

This Aaron Hernandez situation is a microcosm of the American Capitalist system. Those with discipline and patience will prosper, while those who rush to hasty, uninformed decions (you) end up sitting at the computer all day with nothing but a million forum posts....

.... big Ray Lewis fan, huh?

Have the name plate unstitched and changed over to Moss.

There are plenty of options if people want to keep the jersey but change the nameplate; some very good, some very obscure, and one that up until very recently had previously been the most infamous Patriot in franchise history.

Number 81 throughout Pats franchise history
  • 2011-12 --- Aaron Hernandez
  • 2007-10 --- Randy Moss
  • 2006 ------ Jonathan Smith
  • 2003-05 --- Bethel Johnson
  • 2002 ------ Donald Hayes
  • 2001 ------ Charles Johnson
  • 1998-2000 - Tony Simmons
  • 1995-96 --- Hason Graham
  • 1993-94 --- Ray Crittenden
  • 1992 ------ Walter Stanley
  • 1991 ------ Rob Carpenter
  • 1990 ------ Zeke Mowatt
  • 1988 ------ Russ Francis
  • 1987 ------ Brian Carey
  • 1983-87 --- Stephen Starring
  • 1981-82 --- Preston Brown
  • 1975-80 --- Russ Francis
  • 1974 ------ Joe Sweet
  • 1969-70 --- Charley Frazier
  • 1960-68 --- Jim Colclough

Is it sad that Zeke Mowatt is a better option at this point?

I still don't understand why simply removing the nameplate isn't a primary option for people. Even the team stated it's going to destroy them, which makes no sense.

May I suggest that Kraft destroy them by donating them to NE shooting ranges?

What Bill Polian would say:

I didn't buy one of his Jerseys because we took him so early in the draft despite his character issues. Had we waited and picked him up in the late rounds I would have bought one and would have had a clear conscience.

I don't see there being a "huge market in the coming weeks and years." The guy is literally a top news story every day right now, so demand is currently peaking (and perhaps has already peaked). Once the story and corresponding frenzy dies down, there won't be any real value in any of these items.

I think it's the PERFECT jersey to wear to Jet games in Jersey...the green mook cowards would part like Moses parted the Red Sea....
