New Patriots Logo (Font)!

Oh my god, that's not metal you Philistine! That's punk rock with a little rockabilly in there as well.

Metal is Slayer, Cannibal Corpse, Burzum and dudes like that.

The big difference is that Metal is for 300 lb agoraphobic virgins with skin conditions and 40 year old dudes who wish it was the 80s so bad so they could undue all of the terrible choices that lead them to where they are now.

Punk rock is for ass holes.

Metal has broken into a thousand sub genres, but it comes down to this:

1. Great metal (Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Cliff era Metallica, Pantera, and I'll give you Slayer and I'm putting in early Bruce Era Iron Maiden and Priest up to and including Defenders of the Faith)
2. everything else.

Part 2- it was just a quick pic I pulled off the net- get over it!
Halford wanna be, Steven Pearcy skinny Kid, Wendy O Williams attempt and Slash jr.)

I'm a graphic designer, and I must say, I'm not truly blown away. But change is nice! (I'd prefer something slightly sleeker)

I wonder if it will have any affect on the current uniforms?

I hope not! The logo is a downgrade from the last one.

Will NOT be buying anything with that ugly logo on it.

Slayer made a cover album that every song was by punk bands.

I still remember the video of Wendy driving the bus into a wall of TV's.......

That was back in the day when MTV still showed music videos.

Words cannot express how much rage was in me when I replied to you. I've only just now calmed down.

And the lead singer of Lamb of God sings Christmas songs at Christmas time it doesn't make them a gospel band!

Also, I'd never heard that band you linked and while I'm not always a huge punk dude they were pretty good.

Of course, like any music niche, there will be some great, some good, some ok and some terrible songs. I hear ya.

Whatever sounds good...

LOG were the worship band in church last Sunday. You missed a good service.

Wendy O'Williams lived across the woods from me in the late 80's/early 90's in Fairfield, Connecticut. She'd tool around town in a red Porshe 944 with a license plate that read "wendy o".
A few years later, she tried to drive a knife into her chest with a hammer and eventually succeeded at suicide with a gun. They say she had difficulty trying to find her niche in everyday society after her rock career was over.
I mean, where do you go from there after you've found success as a particular breed female like she was?
If only women could be more amusing like that. Face it, if a female isn't nude, they're pretty damned boring.
Wendy O'Williams, a true original.

Oh, and The Patriots new logo is freaking wild wild west. The Arizona Cardinals would be more appropriate in that font.
Although the 1970's font the Pats had was really cool. The one the guy posted a few pages back. The one with the stripes and red white and blue in each letter. I loved that lettering as a kid.

I have been wanting them to change that script logo for YEARS. Seriously, if you could somehow go and hack into the Patriots.com bulletin board forum from the late 1990s, you would find posts from me asking them to change it. To me that "cursive script" just didn't look right for a football team. It made us look like a finesse team, IMHO.

The new one isn't quite what I had in mind either but it's a lot better than staying with the old one. Personally I would've liked something like what the Falcons had from '98-'02:

Atlanta Falcons Wordmark Logo - National Football League (NFL) - Chris Creamer's Sports Logos Page - SportsLogos.Net

Just my $.02.

Can never understand corporations spending big money on minor changes to logos. Smacks of consultants getting paid loads to justify their presence (wish I was a consultant :) )
It's all done for no other reason than to increase sales. Now everyone will want the shirt with the new logo, etc

Good way to increase sales as well... I know Kraft likes that..."Money,Money...Money"... God Bless

Rex and company sux it. ;)

As an ass hole that just saw Black Flag 3 weeks ago, I could not agree wi you more.

Barred for life!

As a designer, I never understood why fans don't embrace newer visual styles. From my perspective, that logo is beyond outdated. We all might as well live in the 1960s if that's the case.

I'm not saying I'm a big fan of the new logo font, but I'm already open to a style change. In fact, when Nike was introducing the new uniforms last year, I was hoping we could get a bit of a facelift too.

I wish I lived in the 60s. Sorry I prefer Eames and Yves Klein and the interesting pop art ads to the drek that you folks are pumping out now.

The pointy ends in the middle of the letters don't do it for me, but I guess it would look too plain without them? I like the script font, I thought it had a confidence to it...like John Han****'s signature on the Declaration of Independence (which is probably what they were aiming for).

Can we PLEASE get chrome helmets now? McCourty put a Patriots logo on a chrome Rutgers helmet and posted it on Twitter; it looked incredible.
