Re: Arrest Warrant Issued For Patriots Aaron Hernandez

Maybe they'll pull out the Ray Lewis playbook and have AH testify against his buddies. Seems the only way he (if the evidence is circumstantial) gets off w/o doing serious time.

Either way, I don't see him staying in a Pats uniform because of this.

Umm.. You seem to have missed that no arrest warrant was issued. It was a false report...

Yep. Saw that one would be issued for obstruction of justice but seems to be an erroneous report. I can't keep up! :D

These friggin "reporters" have no integrity. They just report whatever they hear without verifying it first. You'd have thought they'd have learned from the incident with Dan Rather but it's clear they didn't.

And I understand about not keeping up. :)

Can all of these ******* media morons who are issuing badly-sourced reports also get charged with something? How about obstruction of reality?

Re: Arrest Warrant Issued For Patriots Aaron Hernandez

As I have posted elsewhere, I'm going to wait to see how things play out. IIRC, the District Attorney has 72 hours to press charges after an arrest is made. We'll see then how things stand. I can also tell you from personal experience that being arrested on a Friday is another police tactic. It's a pain being held over a weekend when it's harder to reach anyone in the court system and the jail scales back a bit on staff. It makes the person being incarcerated more frustrated and can sometimes lead to them saying things they otherwise would not. Most of the time, too, unless Hernandez' attorney is a great persuader, he'll be in over the weekend waiting to see a judge on a bail hearing.

When I was arrested it was a Friday afternoon of a three-day weekend. I had to wait in the jail until Tuesday to get a bail hearing before a judge and be released. I was arrested driving a friend's car to the store for him. It turns out that he had several warrants outstanding and the cops thought that I was him. Even though I had both my driver's license AND my VA card with me, they took me in and it was almost two weeks before the charges were dropped when they realized that I wasn't him. But that's another story.

I'm not jumping on the Hernadez-is-done bandwagon just yet. I'm gonna wait and see how things play out first. That's what we are supposed to do for our fellow citizens. Assumed innocent until proven guilty.

Given your unfortunate experience, may I suggest you NOT wear your Hernandez jersey until this confusing warrant business is all sorted out?

Older reporters simply mis-heard cops talking about AH living in Ty Warren's house.

Including the Patsfans.com writer of this pathetic article.

Last time I read an article penned by this guy.

Or....perhaps the 2nd (Globe) that says no arrest warrant has been issued is the false report, and the others are accurate.

Actually, PFT seems to think they could BOTH still be more-or-less correct:

Police have prepared arrest warrant for Aaron Hernandez | ProFootballTalk

"ABC News is reporting (via Adam Schefter of ESPN) that police have prepared an arrest warrant for Hernandez. That the police have “prepared” the arrest warrant, rather than “issued” the arrest warrant, suggests that the radio report was correct that Hernandez will be arrested, while the Globe report was correct that the paperwork hasn’t actually been filed yet."

Does it really matter though? Whatever's going to happen, we'll find out in due time.

Except that 2 State Troopers just went to Hernandez's house, went in and then left. It was not an arrest warrant they had with them..

An arrest warrant has to be issued by a judge to an officer authorized to execute it.

If a warrant has been prepared (by the police), but not yet issued (by a judge), the troopers can't really execute it, obv.

And again, this is all arguing about facts that will become completely irrelevant in a day or two, when he either is or isn't arrested.

Even if AH did not pull the trigger(s), he was likely involved in this (murder) incident and others that borrow from the same cast of characters. Shooting a drug dealer in the face with an unregistered gun is not something Goodell or Mr. Kraft should overlook.

When I read the article- from ABC News -that AH destroyed his phone and security system, my first thought was- this guy is obstructing the investigation. Whether he did something that contributed to a murder or not, he covering up something for someone. In addition, he's telling the investigators to dig deeper.

Whether AH killed someone or not, is he the right type of character for the New England Patriots? Is he what the represent? The hope at draft day was that these types of incidents would not come about. Handing him a large contract and stating that he is an upstanding young man seems pretty far-fetched at this junction.

Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez will be charged in connection with the shooting death of a 27-year-old Dorchester man, a law enforcement source told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 on Friday.

According to that source, an arrest warrant has been issued on a charge of obstruction of justice.

Brilliant!
This and the marathon explosions reporting should make the knights of the keyboard very proud indeed.

Re: Arrest Warrant Issued For Patriots Aaron Hernandez

This is a prime example of why anyone who jumps to conclusions based on reports coming out the media that relay information from "sources" look foolish. The ones who talk are typically the ones who know the least and want to act as if they are part of the inner circle, when in fact they are more often than not relaying second or third hand information produced by the rumor mill known as the water cooler. And yet the media keeps pumping this garbage out and they look like idiots. It is one thing for blogs and such to get it wrong, it is another when ABC, Fox and ESPN are regurgitating and corroborating each others garbage and passing it off to the masses as fact.

Stay classy media.

I just tweeted that I farted...expect to be arrested, convicted, sentenced and executed by Monday morning at the latest...source:ABC News

If obstruction is the worst he gets he's gonna be one lucky mofo. That said, one of those three are gonna roll and if Aaron didnt pull the trigger it might as well be him.

Friends or no friends, you don't goto prison and lose millions of dollars for something you didn't do.

So has it been issued now?

not yet, PJ...BUT..a judge is LOOKING at the warrant...he's got it and he's staring at it...since 5:45 this morning...it's real real complicated...and of course...the TIMING Is everything
