Whew, I am just glad they grabbed themselves a CB in the draft -- Ryan Logan. Never have too many CBs. So Dennard and Gronk, two late season stars will now start on PUP......

Can we please stop the overreaction. A player has an unknown injury in June and he is written off for the season?
And Gronk will not be on in season PUP.

Gronk will begin the season on PUP because he will not be in football shape.

How will he get in shape then? You cant practice on PUP. He will go on active pup perhaps during camp. He will be kept on the roster so he can practice and get up to speed.

Only way he goes on reserve pup is more setbacks. It looks like that wont happen.

no need to worry....AHern's brother is overseeing everything now...

Here's Ahern's brother playing for UConn against Pitt (probably his biggest game). See him (#14) at :45 and 1:20 and 1:50 and 2:40.

Agree. He will be on the field opening day. Count on it.

His back is going to cause him to have to sit around for the next two months and it will cause him to have to work back into football shape. The strength and conditioning coach will have to put him into an accelerated conditioning regimen following his back procedure and if he doesn't meet his benchmarks then the pre-season will be out of the question in terms of practice. That will cause him to miss the first 6 weeks of the season.

Thanks Doc.

I'll leave this one to you. I find banging my head against a brick wall no fun at all.

Then stop banging your head against a brick wall and just let the bricks fall on you so that you can stop typing your know-it-all comments without any foundation.

People going a bit overboard now. Aren't you all glad we've got Ryan, Dowling, Arrington and Talib now? Wow...having 5 legit corners seems like a must nowadays. I REALLY want to see Dennard on the field this year though. Think he can be a real good player for us.

The fact that he was carted off is very perplexing though, given it was a shoulder injury. It must've been pretty bad. Cross your fingers.

Wanna bet? Might miss 1 game worst case, but about 90% sure he is on the field opening day setting the world on fire.

Sure? What is the wager?

While I certainly wouldn't wager anything on this subject and feel that you have a reasonable point in expecting him to miss a few games (The Herald agrees with you that Gronk won't be back until late September), we're also talking about....

Gronk!

There's also a chance that he only misses a game or two, or even nothing, and they're able to manage his pain enough via cortisone shots + painkilling agents.

If I "had" to bet with you, I'd probably bet that he misses the first couple of games, but it may not come to that due to his propensity to play the tough guy role and tolerate pain etc.

Yawn

McCourty (Elite) is waiting in the wings to return to his natural position and Arrington is directly after him.

Chillax my homies.

1 injury away from Arrington back on the outside :bricks: and people laughed when I said we need more CB depth. Logan Ryan better be able to play.

Rob Gronkowski's latest surgery a concern for Patriots - NFL.com

You're welcome. Now without the undue sarcasm and homerism, read bullet point #3 and what Albert Breer reported. He will be back in October and off PUP at that time.

This what I hate about the media. Jason Pierre-Paul is having a similar back surgery within a week or two of Gronk, but there aren't dozens of articles about doom and gloom for JPP's immediate or long term future by the media.

Dennard will be back at some point during the season. Good thing the Patriots drafted a CB and the demise of Ras-I Dowling seems to have been only a rumor started by haters.
