Tim Tebow cut

Like Tebow, really hope he catches on somewhere and has success unless he's playing the pats. But, I don't think he's worth the media circus he brings with him(not saying it's his fault they follow his every move). Hopefully Jags give him a chance.

Albert Breer on NFL just said that if Tebow wants to play QB, he's probably going to have to go "prove it" in the CFL.

Otherwise, probably New England, where they'll find a place for him.

You're talking about someone who has brought in Corey Dillon, Randy Moss, OchoCinco, Albert Haynesworth and, last year, a guy pending trial in Nebraska.

BB isn't afraid of distractions. He's probably asking around for Dzokhar Tsarnaev's speed in the 40 right now.

None if which created a media circus the way Tebow would. I hope the Jags sign him.

Its funny that people think Bill is worried about a "media circus"

Here's the deal as far as I can tell. Bill makes the best moves he can for the good of the team, and he does not care what the media or we say or think about any one player or another.

If the thinks Tim Tebow would help the patriots more than option B, Tebow will be a patriot.

 Absolutely!!

Btw I don't think Tebow would be a distraction here. Think we're all set at QB. :D

I think this is really the key here, and to Tebow in the NFL. If he's on a team with a fringy-starting QB, then fans can clamor for Tebow because it's not clear that Tebow wouldn't be better. But nobody - NOBODY - on planet earth, probably including Tebow and his mother, thinks he's better than Tom Brady. So there would be no clamoring for him at ALL here in NE to start over Brady.

A place like New England is where he could possibly find a fit as a backup QB (probably 3rd stringer) that can also do some other things to help the team.

Not saying they should sign him, but this is the kind of place where a Tebow could actually work out.

I think Tebow's only shot at staying in the NFL this season is as a backup to one of those teams who has a "running QB", like Carolina, Seattle, Buffalo, or Washington. Carolina would be the best place for him, and I've thought that for a while. Amazing that with some of the crap that passes for QB play in the NFL this kid can't at least get a back up job.

Its quite a fall - From TEBOW MANIA - to probably being out of the league all in about 18 months

Jets had granted Tim Tebow permission this off-season to seek a trade. More than one team asked if were willing to play TE, but he was not.

He'd be a decent backup......maybe for ahern

The jEST invited the media circus because they are an attention whore organization.

Tebow has virtually no chance to play QB in NE and that is understood by everyone.

Agreed. Consider what happened with him in Denver. I know their D and K played huge roles in their success, but they started out 1-4 and ended up making the playoffs, and Tebow had a very good game against Pittsburgh in the playoffs and they won in a major upset.

I mean, wow. That's a pretty nice little run for Tebow and the Broncos. So Peyton returns, signs with Denver, Tebow gets traded to the awful joke of a franchise that is the Jets, and he may never be heard from again.

Crazy.

Tebow still appears to only be interested in being a QB as reports have teams willing to trade for him if he switched to TE which he said no to.

Tebow is turning out to be a really stubborn and in some cases selfish players.

Keep him off the pats

OK, then, he's made his choice. He'd rather be a quarterback than an NFL football player, which is certainly his prerogative.

I suspect Tebow thinks of it more as maintaining faith in his own abilities in the face of naysayers. The thing is, he's hardly a guy who has been overlooked or underestimated or denied opportunities. He's been handed two golden chances to be an NFL quarterback, both of which have ended him up back right where he started: with everybody saying "Tim, you belong at TE," and him saying "No way, I want the ball in my hand."

If it was me, I'd prefer to play in the NFL at any position I could, rather than play, say, in the CFL as a QB.

I don't know how "worried" Belichick is about a media circus. I do know that he's usually been a coach who is about limiting exterior distractions for the team as much as possible. That being said, it would sort of go against his nature to bring a player in who is going to have the media outside the practice facility waiting to snag a picture of him running through the rain shirtless.

That's assuming all the teams said they want him at TE.

Well, we at least know that no team felt he was worth so much as a 7th-round pick at QB, right?

Strongly agree. Don't know if the running QBs HCs want the distraction but with the high probability of running QB starters missing a few games, having Tebow as a backup would be smart depth.

My lack of faith in the smarts and guts of NFL HCs makes me think QB in the CFL is the best and most probable way to restart his QB career.

Lets put it this way - if Trent Edwards, David Carr, T Jackson, John Skelton and the like are still in this league after years of mediocrity, I think Tebow still has a place.

Hell, even Sexy Rex Grossman had a spot since last year.

Well, we at least know that no team felt he was worth so much as a 7th-round pick at QB, right?

No team that the Jets would trade him to at least. But if just one team said they'd pick him up as a FA to compete at QB, then I can't blame him for preferring that route. We'll have to see what happens.

Tebow made a huge mistake last season. If he believed so much in his own abilities why do you go to the Jets where it was clear from day 1 that he will only be a situational player. He had a chance to play for the Jaguars as their starting QB and the Jaguars fans would've been happy with Tebow Mania atleast for 1 season.
