If we were gonna take a another Rutger I would of preferred Khaseem Greene

Logan Mankins

What I don't get is does BB not try to even guess where other teams have guys like Harmon/Tavon Wilson? He either doesn't care or he thinks Harmon/Wilson were going to get snagged up right around or soon after where he took them. Some people argue that he just DGAF about the draft but that doesn't make sense, since you don't trade back from round 1 for a return a substantial part of which is a 3rd (Yes I know this wasn't the acquired pick, but it doesn't matter).

How is it that two years in a row we are the only team that has two guys with completely off the wall projections? Are we the only team that doesn't incorporate consensus rankings at all or did we just coincidentally pick the two back to back secretly highly rated sleepers? I honestly don't understand this....

Next year I know when 3rd Round starts I need heavy drinking ... defend BB all you want but the 3rd round was a joke for years now ...

Stevan Ridley (drafted in the third round in 2011) says h"hi". Granted he is the exception to the rule.

Harmon might be the worst pick ever, most website don't even have a draft grade. I hope rutgers gets shutdown so we don't have to be force fed their crap.

Being a Patriots fan during the draft is like being a Jets fan when the regular season starts: You go into it full of hope and then quickly enter the WTF zone. It sucks, but I just can't get excited about the Pats draft. We won't know anything about it 'til the end of the preseason.

At the time he was a "massive reach" in the 2nd round.

Even Belichick admitted that he overdrafted Vollmer and that he drafted him sooner than he might have. He was concerned that someone would jump in and take him though.

Bore off.

All you've done is sulk all night at every pick because it wasn't Matt Barkley.

easy there, buddy. i'm not thrilled with tonight's 3rd round, but Devin McCourty from Rutgers turned out pretty good. In fact he was one of only a handful of pro bowlers from the 2010 first round.

I can't wait until Greene is the Pats next pick. This board will explode with people criticizing BB that think they know more about football and these prospects because they watched one of their games on a Saturday night last fall and remembered their name. If Greene is their next pick, he may be my favorite pick ever, even if he flames out of the NFL after a year or two.

Giants were going to take him at 18 or 19 of that year.

Look at SF. Very few if any holes on that roster.
Look at us.

Yeah.

Why? Because of these stupid ******* reaches.
That's 20 DBs or more and counting.

How many of those DBs turned into solid starters? Pro Bowl players?
How's our pass defense?

We SUCK at this. Period.

What are you talking about? I loved the second round, posted it about 5 times. I said my bold prediction is that we maybe get Barkley with the 91st but that's it. I didn't want Barkley personally just thought it could happen.

For a team that preaches best player available, does anyone honestly think this was the top rated guy on the board? I think this is purely a BB pick and I also think a lot of scouts would not be very happy right now. This is why I think we need a Pioli type presence in the front office to stand up to BB. You have an entire scouting department and you have to trust the process, I don't see any evidence of that in this pick. I will go along with the "in Bill we trust" but if this pick doesn't pan out, like the Tavon Wilson pick, the media should call him out for it.

Regarding Duron Harmon: I was a little surprised that we took the entire backfield of Rutgers. If they were that good, why wasn't Rutgers ranked nationally?
Okay sarcasm aside, I read Harmon's interview that a resourceful Patsfan posted earlier and I am intrigued. He comes across as a mature cerebral type, even though some of the answers appear coached. BB and the coaching, obviously feel he can play at the next level. Just like every other player they drafted today. I am quite intrigued by the entire draft class and cant wait to see how they develop.
We gave up one stud from last year in Wes Welker. If we can get one stud and couple of good future starters out of this draft, this draft can be considered successful.
