Didn't see the pick coming but damn.!! Surround this guy with some real players and let's see what he can do. 10 sacks despite being the only focal point on the defense on a crap team. . Brett Favre's college.

Hearing from a few scouts … a lot of questions about Collins dogging it last year. Some think it was only because of bad coaching staff

They did say that he was on a " bad team " last year. Don't like the dogging it aspect, but he won't have many losing seasons in NE, and him dogging it for a dog of a team, just means we may have gotten a top talent for cheap pickens

i think its because he is not being metioned every second by the media and elsewhere...or he is really some obscure pick .

41.5 inch vertical and `11-7 in the broad jump. A real weapon it seems, based on numbers and explosiveness. So why's he there at 52?
I think it's more a combination of a player putting up more than respectable numbers being lost on a bad team. It happens all the time and in many sports.

The more I read up on Collins (admittedly right now) the more I am intrigued by the very obvious physical gifts he appears to possess. It's been a while since the Patriots had a game changing OLB. I can see him playing OLB in the 3-4 and a pass rushing DE in the 43. Collins opposite Jones = oh my. Let's hope Collins can develop into that player.

If Armstead develops and Kelly regains his best form that line all of a sudden looks mighty nice.

Not that it will happen, but all these picks means we could mop up players people wanted to trade up for.

I don't care about his ranking, this Collins is a freak athlete and he has production too.

That's good news. He wasn't really trying that hard when he racked up all those TFLs.

For what it is worth prediction machine had Collins as their 28th ranked player in the draft.

Glad I don't follow CFB closely so I don't have to pretend to know anything about the draft.

:D

So our first 2 picks this year are on the D, Armstead as our top 10 pick in the draft and now the WOLB Collins. can't wait for the other picks tonight to see what BB is thinking.

Pats throwing a lot of draft capital at LB
2 #1s
2 #2s

Amazing measurables, plus we needed a cover LB, BUT, this looks like a huge reach for a possible workout warrior. Nobody had him rated higher than 4th round.

The large majority of PatsFans have been calling for impact players on D. Now the Patriots are finally delivering on that call people are complaining about the need for explosive players on the O. You just can't win around here.

I happen to be worried about the WR position.

i predict a center or a safety next.

Adds to a return to 3-4 conversation. Also could point to the end of spikes era after next season. Hightower to MLB, Collins taking Von Miller type role at SLB/sub-rusher.

ravens trade up....there goes keenan allen IMO

19 Bench.

72 if you add them up. 75 is an impact player like Ware and other similar players. He's 3 reps short of that.

I really like the Collins pick here.

At 52, most of the wide receivers were still available. If BB rates them all equally, it makes sense to go for the Best Player Available and wait for 59 to take a wide receiver.

Go Pats!

Apart from a few places having him going to NE @ 29 and more having him as a solid 2nd rounder you mean?
