draft is WR heavy.. but this sucks

Oh Well, Theres goes a good WR and a great thread.

I plan to have fun calling them the Pittsburgh Bens.

We'll see what happens in less than 2 weeks. Really doubt they will pick a WR with the #1. Probably mid-rounds for the best busts.. er, I mean, values...

Brandon Lloyd we turn our lonely eyes to you.

I was torn. 1 minute I wanted Sanders and the next minute I wanted the pick.

Sanders over 3rd-pick, most definitely. Past 2nd & 3rd pick WRs were pretty bad...

I fear Patriots may re-sign Lloyd...

I like Sanders but I'm a bit relieved; I wasn't huge on spending a 3rd round pick on a one year deal (no I don't buy that they had a long term deal worked out).

What makes every one think that the team evaluates veteran WRs better than they do rookies? Look at Ocho, Joey Galloway, Doug Gabriel, Donald Hayes and to some extent Stallworth.

I fear Patriots may re-sign Lloyd...

Yeah, not that! A almost 1000 yd guy on a cheap contract who already has a year in the system.

It's time for the Patriots' scouting department and offensive coaches
(Daboll, McDaniels, and O'Shea) to prove their worth in selecting a serviceable wide receiver or two. This would give the team a long
term solution at wide receiver.

Belichick should listen to his own organizational people this time around.
When he drafted Chad Jackson, He listened to Meyer instead of heeding
Daboll's thumbs down advice.

My thoughts, Belichick will NOT draft even one receiver. Won't take a chance.

Yeah, not that! A almost 1000 yd guy on a cheap contract who already has a year in the system.

Lloyd fell to the ground reading your post

Here's what the Pats did: they decided what they thought Sanders was worth and made the offer. Period. On to plan B.

Once I saw the offer was only $2.5 million, I assumed the Steelers would match and I think the Patriots figured they'd match as well. I think they just crossed their fingers that (A) Pittsburgh might get miffed at Sanders for forcing the issue by signing the offer sheet and let him go, or (B) wanted the third-round pick more to address other needs.

I can't wait to see what New England's "Plan B" is for WR.

It's ok guys we only need to draft 1 wide receiver now instead of 0 like we would've if Sanders signed:rolleyes:. The WR group is almost complete !!

Waits for all the Steelers related people who classified him as a bum to reclassify Sanders as an integral part of their future...

And another one bites the dust. I told all of you not to pencil him into the starting line-up just yet. Now we definitely need to draft two receivers and possibly bring Lloyd back.

Yeah, not that! A almost 1000 yd guy on a cheap contract who already has a year in the system.

I'm curious to see if Lloyd is Plan B.

I was hoping they would take the pick, oh well such is life.:(
