Tom Brady and Terrell Owens work out together

if he wasn't insane, TO would be the best WR in the history of the NFL and it wouldn't even be close. But like i said, he is insane

If you wanna play that hypothetical game, Randy Moss w/ his head on straight would have had a much more impressive career than T.O. w/ his head on straight.

Calvin Johnson is the most talented. No question about it. If he was a Pat...

Nothing like TB & BB messin with mediots to give them more material.

Nah.

Moss is the most gifted receiver and it's not close. He could bully you physically and then burn you deep. Oh, and those hands......

Jerry Rice is the greatest, no question, but Moss had everything, and is maybe the third greatest as it stands. Had the Vikings not quit on him (before he quit on them), who knows how we would be talking about Moss. It's a shame he didn't come straight to NE instead of the Raiders debacle. Him and Twig in '05 would have pimp-slapped the Broncos and the rest.....

I wanted the team to take a flyer on him prior to the 2009 season? Now? No thanks. We wouldn't be able to field an NFL caliber unit if we lined up today, but I still wouldn't want Owens.

Fool!
Just think of the wicked pissah sig that Sicilian could make for you

let's sign Owens and Moss to league minimum contracts and see how it works out :singing:

I tell ya, I'd absolutely LOVE to see Coach sign TO to a contract, veteran minimum, and bring him in for training camp, just to watch Felger's head explode.

I'd have to get a 55-gallon size bag of popcorn and a pony keg of beer to supply me through the whining & fireworks that would ensue.

Ah heck, not only the local sports radio phone lines would melt down, but likely this board too. :D

GO for TO! We need some more distractions!

No worries. Brady just feels like taking an off-season walk on the wild side! Gronk goes to Vegas, Brady works out with a nutcase! It's all good!

I'm wondering why Donald Jones and Michael Jenkins weren't there?

Jenkins left on Monday, but it's going to take him two months to get out to California.

Mike Reiss submitted his thoughts on this topic in today's chat.

Hi Mike - I don't seem to have any vibes that Brady's lobbying for T.O. And you HAVE to figure after the year of Ocho, there's nothing more to it than just some QBs working out offseason with pro-caliber receivers. Right? RIGHT? *gulp*
Mike (10:16 AM)

No, no, no. A lot can be read into the workout in which Brady was on the field with T.O., but one thing I feel quite certain about is that it has nothing to do with any connection to T.O. landing in New England.

Nah.

Johnson is by far the most physically talented reciever. Moss is pretty good though.

I personally think that it is fine that T.O. wants to prove himself as a potential asset for an NFL team. The guy wants to work and as far as I am concerned, there is nothing wrong with that.

#BradyHasThePopcorn......

With that said - as of right now, this is what the Patriots wide receiving depth chart looks like:

Amendola, Jones, Jenkins, Ebert, Slater, Aiken

They still need to get two more wide receivers and outside of the draft, here is who I think that the Pats have to take a look at:

(1) Danario Alexander - Knee history aside, he extrapolated to a 70 + catch, 1,170 yard and 13 touchdown campaign with the Chargers last year

(2) Laurent Robinson - Before going to the wasteland that is called Jacksonville, Robinson was quickly becoming an asset for the Cowboys in 2011.

(3) Brandon Lloyd/Julian Edelman - Teams are beginning to re-sign their free agents and I would like to see the Pats take a 2nd look. Edelman visited the Giants now that Hixon is signing with the Panthers.

(4) Emmanuel Sanders - If the rumor is true about the Patriots offering Sanders an offer sheet and that they are indeed withholding it until the Steelers tie up more of their salary cap. We'll see....

Basically this. And catching some passes from Tom publicly can't exactly hurt that stock. On the flip side, if Brady is trying to get some offseason reps in with his new WR and just stay in shape in general, and TO - who is still in excellent shape - is in the area and wants to do some drills, that helps Brady, too.

Elite athletes have tons of common contacts and get together for informal workouts all the time in the offseason.
