if they don't stop f_king with the damn rules that's all going to change sooner then you think. I for one don't like where they are going with the game. they should have all the players sign wavers acknowledging how dangerous the game is and go back to what the rules were in the 70s back when obs were football players.
Dunno Cap'n. The fact is that we now KNOW much more about concussions, etc. than we did then. Waiver or no, it's totally irresponsible to not try to mitigate against head injuries and to hold players out once concussed. I'm FOR these restrictions.
A lesser long term health issue are the rules restricting QB hits. As "woosie" as some may appear, I'd rather see the few talented QBs playing rather than missing games and seasons. The product on the field is better with these restrictions, annoying as their interpretation can sometimes be.
I would agree that a return to the old rules allowing CBs to make contact with wideouts beyond the 5 yds from scrimmage would bring a great part of the game back. Never gonna happen as scoring and fantasy stats are too big a part of the game. The casual fans hates the low scoring defensive battles like we saw early in the BB Brady era.
