No Pats vs Ravens opening night

I'm kind of glad the Pats don't have to open in Baltimore and watch the thugs raise the banner, but WTF? They couldn't move the baseball game to earlier in the day or make it a double header the next day? It's not like you don't have enough notice. If I was the Ravens I would be PO'd. Ha on them! They have to open on the road! I hope they send them to the Steelers & they lose!

Yeah i don't get how they couldn't move it around...stupid. I would have loved to go there and ruin their night

It's a real prick move by the Orioles not to move that game. I have no doubt that given the same situation every team in Boston would have moved theirs, we've seen this happen with the Red Sox and Bruins before.

Because you can't just move a game without players association approval unless it is the day of the game. And the players are not going to agree on a DH.

Players are not going to agree to move a game from 7pm start to 1pm start after playing night games on the road the night before.

Baltimore is in Cleveland, Chicago in NY. Not that they are far away but in baseball you never know length of game. Most likely both teams are going to be in playoff races and why would you hurt you're teams chances for a NFL game.

As someone else said above, I think the Boston teams have done it before, and you can't tell me, before the baseball season even starts, that moving one game months in advance, is going to make a difference. You'd move it because your city is going to be showcased on the opening night of the most popular sport in the country and now you look like a bunch of jackasses.

Bruins have never done it. The Red Sox did it but both teams were already in town and weren't flying in from another city after finishing a game around 11pm and playing at Noon.

The world doesn't begin and end with the nfl, folks...I'm glad the orioles and the players assoc gave Goodell and the nfl an FU

It is not the same situation. The Boston teams don't share the parking lots nor are the stadiums right next to each other.

So basically Ravens open on the road, I'm guessing at Houston for the Ed Reed story line, then get to raise the banner (and get their butts kicked) week two vs the Pats.

Count me as glad this ain't happening. Although, I think the Pats would stand a good chance of beating them in their own house. The Ravens' defense is going to be Swiss cheese this season.

Given the way the NFL treats other sports leagues, I kinda don't blame MLB for taking the chance to stick it to 'em.

Nevertheless, I'm not 100% convinced that we've passed the point of no return regarding making some sort of deal on this matter, so I don't consider the case closed quite yet.

Fixed your post for you. If that were to happen, I would very much like to see a Chargers at Colts AFC Divisional playoff type game happen.

This sucks, I really want us to go in there and whoop their asses so bad. Maybe I just hate them more than any other team that beat us recently but I'm looking forward to this rematch like no other. Barring a Brady injury, no excuse for not beating them by double digits, that defense lost over half its starters.

I'm glad it's not the Pats. The only opening night game I want the Pats to be in is when they are raising the banner.

Besides I hate the fact that you have to wait 10 days until the next game, which can seem longer than the bye week because you have already waited so long for the season to begin.

Wonder now if pats will open season at home...maybe vs Jets? :D

Did a 5 yr old do the sig for you? or are those your editing skills :p

Pats had their chance last year, and they blew it.

Count me among those who are relieved that we are not playing them on Opening Night.

Was hoping to get a shot at revenge opening night vs these guys. Incredibly stupid that they are opening on the road. Why can't they play on Wednesday, Friday, or even Tuesday? Not to mention the Orioles should have moved the game anyways....
