re: Emmanuel Sanders signs offer sheet (Unconfirmed report)

To me, it looks like the Patriots are going after burners at WR. That's excellent news.

Finally

Small ball is done folks. The Pats are going to have a WR corp that resembles the Giants or Ravens that stretches defenses vertical. The short ball will still be there better than ever, but Brady wont have to thread the needle into tight windows because the defense will have to show respect for the deeper passes with guys like Sanders.

Yeah every other team is superior to us in every other way. We do NOTHING right. SIGH

Dude no disrespect but you're creepy.:scared:

But Brady sucks at throwing the long ball :p

More good news for us Pats fans. Off Season started out terrible with the loss of Welker and our receiving core falling apart and defense in shambles. Now we are looking a heck of a lot better. I knew Belichick wouldn't let us down.

That's what I'm saying. It's going be amazing to see how Brady throw the Deep Ball now because he has WR who can get deep.*sarcasm*:D

Damn these conflicting reports!

Patriots still mulling whether to sign Steelers WR Emmanuel Sanders to an offer sheet. So far, no decision made and no offer sheet signed.

If there is any stretch, it might be a couple of yards. There is a bit more speed but no Torrey Smith here. Also, Sanders has not yet signed an offer sheet.

Contrary to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette report, @AdamSchefter reports Patriots still mulling whether to sign WR Emmanuel Sanders to offer sheet.

The long bomb isnt his best suit, but 25 - 50 yard receptions will soften defense up too.

ahhh d%#*!@t. i hope they did get this done and dealt with and someone just opened their mouth a little sooner than the team wanted them to. id be happy with that lineup sander lloyd amendola her and gronk. get d jones in their a couple snaps cause the kid has good speed. This is going to be a whole new offense that we haven't seen for a few years. Can't wait..... unless that is we dont get sander which would be dumb..... i have a feeling after this pats will sign j abraham talib and vollmer and call it quits and look to the draft to get that CB that we need

I disagree.

Sanders compares to Jacoby Jones. The Ravens top 3 WRs all had greater ypc than the Pats WR corp. The Pats didnt throw deep balls like the Ravens last year. If you think that the passing game will be the same or only changed by a couple of yards, youre sadly mistaken.

re: Emmanuel Sanders signs offer sheet (Unconfirmed report)

Is this guy really that good? His stats don't look very impressive. Longest pass he's ever caught is 37 yards. Haven't seen him play much I remember hearing he's a good run blocker.

In Pit he really didnt have a chance to showcase himself, he was the 3rd maybe 4th option behind Wallace, Bryant, and maybe Miller. Best friend of mine is a die hard steelers fans and he does not want to see him go.

kinda hard to get noticed behind mike wallace and antonio brown. kid is a good player just one that didn't get many opportunities because of brown and wallace. If we sign him, expect to hear of him a lot more. not saying he'll be our moss or #1 but in either case that remains to be seen

re: Emmanuel Sanders signs offer sheet (Unconfirmed report)

Sanders hasn't signed an offer sheet yet because doing so would be a hindrance in case the Pats work out a deal for him with the Steelers. I can see where this would be the preferred course for both teams rather than the 5 day match or not dance -the Pats likely want to know whether they have Sanders or not before not picking up Lloyd's option and the Steelers might be able to wrangle out more than just a 3rd rounder and also be able to play in the free agent market sooner with Sanders tender money.

Compare? sure:

Sanders: 5'11" 180 lbs

Jones: 6'2" 220 lbs

re: Emmanuel Sanders signs offer sheet (Unconfirmed report)

This Sanders story seems like a leverage tool to scare Lloyd into accepting a reduced contract. We'll see.
In the meantime......

"The Miami Herald considers Davone Bess' roster spot "at risk" after the additions of Mike Wallace and Brandon Gibson.
We haven't seen Gibson's contract terms yet, but Bess is looking like a No. 4 receiver and his $2.63 million base salary is pricey for one of those. It's worth noting that Dolphins coach Joe Philbin often used four receivers as offensive coordinator in Green Bay. It's not out of the question that Miami keeps all four of Wallace, Brian Hartline, Gibson, and Bess on the 53-man roster. "

Haven't been able to bring myself to seriously watch a Miami game in recent years, but Bess used to shine in his slot role despite the QB issues. Maybe a cheap slot back up becomes available.

re: Emmanuel Sanders signs offer sheet (Unconfirmed report)

I'd compare Sanders to a faster version of Twig.
