Adrian Wilson signed

Lots of action today! Wilson is a guy I like, but the folks here calling out his coverage skills have managed to temper my enthusiasm.

Rodney Harrison the 2nd? :)

Please keep signing db's

This is a great start, if we can sign Talib, and one more cb and S, we will have great starters and good backups (mcourty, Arrington, Gregory)

Wilson can cover who he needs to cover.

He's been a liability in coverage since 2009. I'm hoping having a coverage safety next to him will have the effect it did when he was next to Antrel Rolle. He and Rhodes were never a good fit next to each other and it hurt him a lot.

There goes my chances of being right about a draft pick. I was really hoping they were going to draft Matt Elam who I think will be very successful in the NFL.

That's a nice safety rotation IMO.

For the folks calling this Rodney Harrison 2.0 I'd suggest you temper your expectations. Adrian Wilson won't come close to that type of productivity. What he can do is be veteran leader in the back-end to mentor the young guns we have back there, namely the other Wilson, Tavon, whom I believe has the ability to be an above average SS and is already better in coverage against RBs out the back field and TEs than Steve Gregory ever will be. He also offers the patented Belichick versatility that he covets. Perhaps this will give them the option of running the BIG Nickel formation.

Hopefully this signing helps stabilize the back end and pushes Gregory to back-up/depth role where he belongs behind McCourty whilst leaving T. Wilson to learn directly behind A. Wilson until he's ready to take the reigns.

This has all the makings of a perfect under the radar signing that will pay dividends in more ways than one.

You know who wasn't very good in coverage? Rodney Harrison.

This pick up will do wonders for our 3rd down defense. Wilson is fine 5-15 yards from the LOS.

Thanks Ozark. You know everything... do tell us from the great state of Misery...

He allowed 12/27 when targeted he can't be that bad.

Hopefully this pushes Steve Gregory off the roster.

You never know...I like Elam also.

That must be why he was warming the bench in Arizona

Oh, so the guy who called everyone who was glad Patrick Chung is gone a "hater" is now getting pissy over the signing of Adrian Wilson? What a joke.

They might still draft one (I hope they do). Doubt we see a pick used on WR if the Sanders reports are true and all the moves already made there. So I could see us drafting a CB, OL, DL, and S with S/CB still being the priorities there. CB may also get checked off if Talib or another premier CB is re-signed.

I see Wilson as a 1-2 year stopgap and upgrade to Gregory (which I'd be satisfied with)
