FA WR Donald Jones (Bills) visiting with the Patriots today

Love that the Pats suddenly have multiple (smokescreen?) visits today. I bet one or two more will be announced and around 3:30-4 someone will break the news that Jennings and the Patriots are in serious discussions

I might be the only one, but i have felt for awhile now that brady would kill it with the Bills offensive players. Good running backs, scott chandler, stevie, nelson, jones, etc.

So I am definitely on board with at least giving this guy a shot.

Yeah no....

Great another CHEAP free agent....spend the bucks Krafty!

Before Jones got injured, his stock was on the rise even with Fitzpatrick throwing to him. Could be a major steal. Could be a JAG. Worth a look.

Isn't this the guy that big Vince "eh" ****ed up last season?

I didn't think he was still alive after that tackle.

If this guy is healthy and can get in sync with Brady, he will be very good, plays bigger tHan he is

$25 million under the cap and we are tryingg to sign Donald Jones? Great "value" Bill.

I hate when these things leak out because it's always a boring name that leaks and we have to deal with idiotic posts like the one I'm quoting.

Do you truly believe that Leon Washington and Donald Jones are the only players we're speaking with at the moment sitting on ~22m in cap space? Please tell me that you don't believe that.

A few things are boiling on the Patriots' front:

Bills free-agent receiver Donald Jones is visiting the Patriots today, according to Tim Graham of the Buffalo News.
I like Jones (6-0, 208 pounds) a lot. Think he's a bit underrated. Not sure why the Bills didn't bring him back. He's a very well-rounded receiver. Does a little bit of everything well, including run blocking.

Seahawks kick returner/running back Leon Washington is visiting the Patriots today, according to Adam Schefter.
Obviously a superb kick returner. I don't think the Patriots need Washington – they have Jeff Demps in this role – but it gives them another option should Demps go nuts with this track thing, or get injured again. The Patriots showed interest in Josh Cribbs, but he's likely going to the Cardinals, though that's not a done deal yet.

Patriots are still trying to land Aqib Talib as their No. 1 cornerback, but obviously Talib's camp isn't happy with the contract offer or he'd be signed by now. Patriots are playing the market. They have started to get in the mix with more cornerbacks since Talib is dragging his feet, so look for some visits to come to fruition. They still need to sign one or two more beyond Talib.

Yeah, the Pats should be targetting a $12 million a year WR to be the Pats' #3 WR. BTW, who exactly should the Pats be targeting at WR? The only decent guy left is Jennings and at $10 milion a year, he might be too expensive.

Let the Pats spend their money on defense where it is needed. Areas of their biggest needs aren't exactly having talent fly off the shelf. They are playing the market right and will likely get Talib and Vollmer back at a bargain and upgrade the secondary and pass rush at a bargain too with quality players.

I mean should the Pats have jumped into free agency full force and over pay guys who are still sitting at home waiting for calls from teams?

Honestly, I say bring them all in. If we aren't going to consider Jennings, bring in DHB, Laurent Robinson (He excelled in the #3 role in Dallas in 2011), D. Nelson, D. Jones, throw an offer at D. Alexander. They should all be very cheap, they all have size and most have the speed everyone around here wants (seems to be the craze lately with Wallace just being a FA).

Sorry, but I have no faith given their history that the Patriots will sign impact players given their history.

If he signs it will be for competition. I was thinking they might make a run at David Nelson as well.

I'm glad the Pats are after Don Jones.Reminds me of the good old day of Reche Caldwell and Doug Gabriel.

This must drive Brady f'n nuts to work with a boat load low talent half wits lames every year to find out the only talent they have is lineup right once in a while.

I never seen a team so piss poor about finding outside talent on offense or defense.

Ahh. Another year of jag WRs for brady. Not like he is young or anything

You guys hating on this really haven't seen Donald Jones play, or you just think he sucks when he plays teams other than New England.

Jones is a talented WR that moves around offensively. He can play on the outside and in the slot. He's a big target and on the Patriots that could make him more of a threat in the red-zone.

Couldn't agree more

I have faith the Pats will sign players who will help this team win. They have signed plenty of impact players over the years. They don't overpay for flashy high priced free agents who usually are busts.

People wanted the Pats to pursue Mario Williams last year and he has been a bust in Buffalo. People killed the Pats for not trading for Brandon Marshall when he went to Miami or Santonio Holmes when he went to the Jets. Both flamed out on those teams.

The market is flushed with players at positions they need with the players sitting there. I have faith they will improve the team in these areas.

Then you know absolutely nothing about the Patriots history.

Or he could be the next David Givens. Donald Jones was a rising property before he tore his ACL. The guy has a lot of talent that might have been held back by a mediocre QB.
