What are we thanking him for the 2 huge drops that cost the pats 2 playoff games? The guy lead the league in drops and was a system wr. You will see he will be another Branch Givens now that hes gone. Im thanking Belichick for having the balls to not sign him. Yes he was a tough little guy but that dont win superbowls.

I'm thanking him but the same way I thank the Dominos guy when he delivers my pizza... He gave me something I expected to get and I paid for it.. Basically a courtesy thank you for completing a task.

Pats fans would really be dropping the ball if they didn't give him a standing O.

You think? I mean Ryan Allen at least help the Celtics win a championship before going to their biggest competitor. I think it will be a mix bag. I think signing with Peyton is more of a shot at TB than BB or anyone else in the front office

Oh they will...only the idiots who think it was his fault won't do it..but we all will. Tickets for that game will be a good amount of $$

We don't know who is fault.. We just know he isn't here he is with our biggest in conference competition and now receiving passes from the guy his BF Brady has been being compared to for almost 15 years.. Either way it something I'd like to hear a lot more information on before I determine how I'd react to his return. As of now I'd just sit in my seat not boo or cheer.. KG approach.

But what if Denver was the only other offer he had ...

I can't blame him for the choice of Denver ... can only blame him depending on what choices he had to stay here ... we'll find out eventually what choices he had.

Thanks for everything, Wes.

You've gone from being my favourite non-Patriots player before you joined to being my favourite non-Patriots player again. You gave everything you had, took what was dished out (legal and illegal) and came back for more. It was an honour to root for you.

:(:(:(

I agree that's why I've decided to remain neutral and blame neither side till I have further details. Either way Welker's career here was ending it just ended earlier than I anticipated.

Thank you Wes! You were a great Patriot! A real warrior, a tireless worker, and you put your body on the line every week. Good luck with the rest of your life and career. Hopefully your success won't be at our expense though!!

Thank you Wes for being an amazing machine at WR. I wore your jersey proudly every Sun for the past 6 years and now it will be retired with honor along with Troy Brown and Bruschi in my closet. *sigh* time to find a new favorite player and jersey to buy.

Thanks for what? Doing your job that you got paid millions to do? Wes should be thanking the Pats for transforming him from a punt returner that was once released by the Chargers into a potential HOF receiver! I like WW but the Pats will be just fine without him. Later dude.

Thank you Wes, gonna miss you for sure. Wish you nothing but good fortune and good health. Can't wish you a ring at the time though sorry, maybe in 2 years I will be able to :)

Anyone who thought the Patriots paid Welker $18M/5 years expecting him to average 100+ catches a year is just plain nuts.

He did his job and then some.

Welker will always be one of my favorite players. I wish him the best in Denver. I hope Peyton goes 0-16, but Welker makes the Pro Bowl and All Pro rosters.

Hey, it works both ways. All contracts are a gamble for both sides. Yes the Pats had WW at what in retrospect was a bargain rate but how many times do teams get the short end of the stick when players seemingly don't perform up to expectations? Adalius, Ocho, ring a bell? Nobody forced WW to sign his previous contracts.

Well...best of luck to Wes but i hope he never sniffs another SB again. Mainly because of his new QB.

Thanks Wes. You did a great job for the Pats while you were here. I'm actually pretty sick over this whole thing and hope everything works out for you, the Pats, Tom Brady and us fans.

Beat me to it.

Thanks Wes for being a tough player putting your body and livelihood on the line crossing the middle where the bad guys reign on defense. Best wishes for continued good health and fun with the Donks.

A brief two years in Purgatory will wash away the sin of playing with Peyton. :)

I intend to give a standing O when you return to Gillette this fall.

Big Tits offer of 2 yrs $15M

You were a true patriot and poured your heart and soul into your play.

Thanks for putting up HOF numbers while on the Pats. Good luck in denver.

Agree with all that the OP said... Now Wes Welker will truly get a chance to "put it in Bill's face' with the Broncos and Peyton Manning. He should thank Belichick for putting him in the Superbowl for a third time by allowing him to sign with what is now the best offense in the NFL.
