I'm hoping New England signs Antoine Winfield. Especially, since he's a slot corner back who you can assign to cover Welker.

Winfield is older and with how quick welker makes his cuts..he will blow by winfield. He blows by anyone who covers him

Agreed. Winfield will have some chop still due to his experience, but Welker will eat his lunch in any game.

he would. Now i really don't want to face denver

The Pats are not going to sign a CB specifically for Welker. The Pats are only definitely going to see him once in the next two years and at most four times.

I say they see him twice this year...meeting in playoffs. That would take a great game plan to keep him from going off

I wouldn't mind WInfield and Pollard. Add some toughness to this secondary.

Still would need to draft a CB and S IMO but I'd like to have them on board for this season.

Is Denver that much better with welker vs Stokley???

Denver had a 2 TE offense ... will it be better as a 3 WR offense?

Will Welker make the adjustment to less throws per game?

I don't think we need to target someone to cover Welker is what i am saying.

There is no guarantee either team will make the playoffs or that both teams will meet either in the AFC Championship game or anywhere else along the way.

The Jets build their team for one opponent - the Pats. The Pats rarely if ever do. The only time I have ever seen them even be accused of doing it is after the AFCCG loss to the Colts, but that was more about the Colts exposing a weakness (the lack of a LB who can cover) than the Pats really building their team to beat the Colts.

We need tall, physical DBs! The Pats and Broncos will meet in the playoffs... Manning now has 3 great receivers so the Pats better be ready and be physical. They need to get into Manning's head like when we had Ty Law, Rodney, etc. If we stick with our smaller DBs, Manning will have a field day...

Hey man, I'm not that tall...

To be honest, i can't wait for welker to make a catch and have spikes just waiting there for him as he turns. :-D

I think Kyle Arrington is still an option to re-sign at some point.

if 36 year old Antoine Winfield who was not a great cover corner even in he's 20's is the pats starting CB to start the season i will throw up lol

Arrington gives me an ulcer.......when he covers....

Winfield is a very good run defender apparently. Well, our defense might as well be good at one thing, at least.

Arrington is effective as a slot corner, on the outside, not so much.

You aren't signing Winfield to start on the outside, he's your third corner back to cover the slot.
