yes...it would be idiotic for the pats to let him go and not try to replace him

it would also be idiotic to guarantee an amount of more than 1-1.5 years of welker's salary......

he would be replaced.......maybe not with someone who can do what welker does as well as welker, but he will likely have capabilities in other ways that welk cannot match.

I like welker, but he has never been an ideal as a #1 and should not get #1 money......

I would take Jennings, Hernandez, Gronk, Ballard as our primary 4 receivers over Wes, Hernandez, Gronk, Lloyd slash other outside receiver known to be available.

Welker agrees to terms with with Bronco's.

Nfl. com and many others are now reporting that Wes is now gone. He has agreed to a contract with Denver.

With several Pro Bowlers on both sides of the ball and $25 million to spend, somehow I find 9-7 unrealistic.

Everybody breathe. This isn't our first rodeo. Wes is the toughest one to see go from an emotional standpoint, but from a team-building standpoint, we've done this over and over and survived.

He also signed a new deal, he didn't restructure. There is a MAJOR difference between the two.

BB is way over rated he road parcels players and the best QB of our generation. Elway has done a better job of assembling a team. Its not like we got Flacco at QB. WTF this is a disaster.

Seriously? Welker means 3 more losses? If Gronk is healthy all year, I can see them at 12-4 again. Not guaranteeing it or anything else, but they have 4 near guaranteed wins in the division with two of the worst teams in the league in the division.

Until we see how he rest of the offseason plays out, we need to couch the apocalypse talk.

part of the thinking may be that even with bringing welker back that would have to do something substantial at WR in order to be more complete......don't know

the tables are turned as I do believe the front office does keep an eye on maintaining a top team without compromising itself over the long haul

the WR group needs to get younger anyway

I'll wait for the details. If he got north 10m I'm fine with him leaving other than that the FO is crazy.

Schefter says it was 2 years, $12 million.

Wow. Amazing the Pats wouldn't match that if it's true.

$6 million a year for two years!

That's all! Commence the grumbling!

Better not let Danny Amendola re sign with the rams. Or at least get Edelman back even though he's not on either Wes or Danny's level.
