Ever get so hooked on a prospect, that you were upset the Pats didn't pick them ?

I'm sure there will still be teams worried about Austin's size, therefore pushing him down the list somewhat. I'm just hoping if he's there, and if the bigger WR's the Pats seem to like are gone, they take a chance on him at #29. I've never been so excited about someone being a perfect pick for that Pats than Tavon Austin. He's exactly what they need. Especially if they lose Welker and Edelman.

Btw, I was a huge Bucsbaum fan, met him at the 1981 draft. Not only was he a great talent evaluator, he was a really nice guy who helped put Pro Football Weekly on the map. I miss his draft guides, he was way better than Mel.

Joel's quotes used to crack me up. I'm sure he got them from scouts. But, harder to circumnavigate than the globe when describing a big tackle. Workout warrior. Looks like Tarzan. Plays like Jane. Definitely better than Mel. Kiper just brags everybody up. Buschbaum pointed out the players strengths and weaknesses. Which fanboys don't want to hear about their draft picks.

Passing on Dunlap really hurts. Especially since we drafted Cunningham one spot ahead of him and happened to play the same position as Dunlap AND happened to come from the same college.

The three I remember most
SUH--I would have traded our whole draft for him
Watt--Too big too fast to pass up
MOST OF ALL
Wesley Woodyard--my first year I went serious into scouting I saw this guy labeled as a classic "tweener". 2nd fastest LB to Gary Guyton. 2nd in SEC in tackles, ALWAYS around the ball. I saw a football player who didnt even get drafted. Skip forward a few years he's starting LB for a very good Denver defense. Any guy with skill AND heart??? I dont care if he doesnt fit our defense, a football player is a football player. He is the reason you have lower round draft picks.

Pretty much all the 6-4/4.60 DE/OLB's since 2007...

Clay Matthews!! I was sold on him while others were in a motel room with Connor Barwin.

I usually don't get upset with the Patriots draft choices even though I usually spend a lot of time on the draft. I have the attitude that they should know 90% more than I do.

But passing on Matthews did upset me.

J.J. Watt for me. Though, to be honest, I never expected the Pats to lay a finger on him.

If the Raiders could have sucked, just a little bit more, Watt would have been in our grasp, same with Aldon Smith.

That's not to say I'm upset with the Solder pick. He's a darn fine athlete as well.

Go figure, they average about 4 wins a year and of course they out play themselves that one season.
