Ray Lewis allegedly cheated to come back from injury

Nobody ignores the "murder thing"--some people just realize that a person's whole life is not defined by whether his friends decide to stab someone in the middle of a brawl. Ray seems to be a mixed bag, like all other people. Oh and by the way, almost everyone in the NFL is on something illegal at one time or another, it is just more accepted than it is in baseball.

2 wrongs don't make a right.

As long as he doesn't start crying again.

Doesnt the same logic apply to taping signals. Did other teams do it? Please refer to my sig. The PATS are still treated by the media as if they were the only team doing it. The same should be done to Ray Lewis.

Where did I disagree with you or bring up the taping? Of course they were all doing it. Guys with no ax to grind like Jimmy Johnson said as much. Old timers like Charlie Taylor and **** Butkus laughed at it and said that was nothing you should have seen what Halas and Allen did.

Personally, I think most or at least a large number of players do it. I am sure Lewis didn't just find this guy out of the blue. Personally, I don't even care.

My only beef is the hypocrisy of the media and fans on these things. Rodney was blasted because he is a Patriot and already labeled a dirty player. Ray Ray will likely get a free pass because the media love him and the fans seem to ignore the little murder thing and think he is wonderful guy.

Ray is if nothing else smart. All you have to do is praise Jesus once at every corner and you've won over half the country right there. It doesn't matter what sins you're doing behind closed doors.

LOL if this was Patriots' and was related to Gronk or Brady or Welker then I couldn't imagine how much bigger the story would be.

I think this taints the Ravens' entire Super Bowl run. Without Lewis back and his whole retirement saga, no way they go on this run. There should be an * next to their entry as a participant in this year's game. :D

This stuff has been around for a long time. It's FDA approved. You can buy it at Whole Foods, or GNC.

Also, I heard about Ray Lewis and this Deer Spray back in 2011. Why is this news now?

FDA approved and NFL approved are not one and the same.

The OP's link leads to the original story, below:

The zany story of two self ordained sports science entrepreneurs | Sports Illustrated

"You're familiar with HGH, correct?" asked Key, referring to human growth hormone. "It's converted in the liver to IGF-1." IGF-1, or -insulin-like growth factor, is a natural, anabolic hormone that stimulates muscle growth. "We have deer that we harvest out of New Zealand," Key said. "Their antlers are the fastest-growing substance on planet Earth . . . because of the high concentration of IGF-1. We've been able to freeze dry that out, extract it, put it in a sublingual spray that you shake for 20 seconds and then spray three [times] under your tongue. . . . This stuff has been around for almost 1,000 years, this is stuff from the Chinese."

IGF-1 is also a substance banned by the NCAA and by every major pro league. Alleging that the NFL warned players away from S.W.A.T.S.'s spray because it's a threat to "Big Pharma," Key boasted that S.W.A.T.S. is "the most controversial supplement company on Earth."

I am sure it has nothing at all to do with some game being played Sunday.

If this was a pats 53rd player on the roster, peter king and all will be screaming from the high horse. This hypocrisy is what pisses me off more than the infraction itself.

Same reason a fake matt walsh story came out on a day when the team was going for 19-0. But this will get swept under "no big deal" because its not the patriots.

Nice try...

There is not a single mention of this on the nfl.com homepage. That shows the double standards.

Darn it! I thought Ray's direct connection to the Lord healed him so well, and way ahead of schedule.......

I really don't care if Lewis borrowed Kurt Angle's right arm, the Patriots were beaten by the ravens and this makes no difference. I understand the anger that the media and NFL ignores it but this is really sour grapes. The patriots had it all set up exactly the way they wanted and simply didn't come through, it is all on them.

It's not an either/or situation; each one is unique and separate.

The Ravens beat the Patriots; they were the better team that day, and therefore deserve credit and are rightfully the AFC champions.

Ray Lewis has admitted to have taken a substance that is on the list of the NFL's banned substances for at least two years, yet the NFL has done nothing. According to NFL rules he should be suspended for four games.

I did not mean to say that you disagreed with me .I was just pointing out the irony of the whole thing.

No one who knows anything about football believes that Ray Lewis and the Ravens beating the Patriots has anything to do with this PED story. The point is that this is and will be a prime example of the different standards applied by the media and league to the Patriots vs. everyone else. Can you honestly say that if this were Tom Brady that the response would be as muted and delayed as it has been for Jesus Lewis?

My point is that this thread is being done in the context of a Patriots loss to Baltimore and people are putting asteriks up etc...., that's sour grapes and no different than the fans of opposing teams who do the same garbage to the Patriots. They look like douchebags and so do we when we engage in the same kind of rhetoric.

No worries. The hypocrisy certainly is maddening.

My problem with the whole thing is that we had a FALSE rumor come up right before SB42 and blew up all over the major sports news sites. Nobody will likely pay attention to this which appears to be a legit infraction.
