Report: Patriots very interested in Revis

It's fun to entertain the thought...

I realize our "window" has been open since 2001, and that we still have a couple of years left before the Brady Exit. But honestly, let's stop screwing around and GO FOR IT. I know it's not about just signing as many big names as possible, but give Revis what he wants and some of our bigger money guys (not Brady, although he should be also) should be willing to restructure to finally get their elusive FIRST Super Bowl. Honestly, whatever it takes, get this guy in the fold.

he's not coming here....jets WILL NOT trade him to the pats...really think he has even a 1% chance of coming here wow

3-way trade involving the Eagles possibly?

If the Patriots REALLY wanted him that bad they would find anyway they could to get him.

sorry..but again..it isn't happening. I know we would all love a stud CB..but do you want to pay him 14 mill a year? What happens with spikes ect down the road with that $$ tied up? No thanks

Talib and another CB through FA or draft to go with dennard

I know it really isn't likely to happen but don't you think that if the Patriots had real interest in him they would be willing to pay him?

i would hope not...not at that price..coming off a ACL surgery? Hell no.....no

He wants to be the highest paid D player in league...i don't want that. I was a pass rush and someone to go with talib AND sign talib for the 14 mill AND have $$ left over

Ryan mallett and a second round pick for revis :rocker:

Why are you so down on revis?

down on revis? Paying a guy 14 mill a year after ACL surgery? Coming from a team that would never trade him in the division let alone to the pats?

And then there are people who think they would take mallett and a second round pick for him

Not going to argue anymore...i will let you people believe the pats truly have even a 1% chance at getting him...it's fun

Mallet is future franchise qb (just look at his draft ) and the jets currently have none.

The jets have no other option to get a decent a qb during the draft and mallet would make a great fit for them.

Yeah this isn’t happening. Just for the reason people have said.

Imagine the backlash if he came here and played well and we won a big game for a change.

The Jets have had issues selling tickets late in the season at their new digs and the fanbase is very much fed up with those who run the organization. Giving Revis to us when he is the best thing that team has would be suicide and further diminish there relevance in that town, it’s already mostly Giants as it is.

Based on what? All 30 games he has started in the NFL? yeah he is the future all right. Easy to say that when we have no proof of this at all as we have never seen him in a real NFL game. wow

Jets want a unproven QB that could be a huge flop and a 2nd for revis? Do you really believe the stuff that comes out of your mouth?

Remember this the same team that traded a 1st round and a second round pick , along with 3 players in order to draft mark sanchez .

The jets don't think like other franchises.

Per www.rotoworld.com/nfl, Revis is seeking $16m/year with $60m guaranteed, for his next contract.

Yikes.

Patriots will not be the only team, that will throw up...

60M guaranteed? HAHA and 16 mill a year? No team needs to spend that for 1 CB

You can get 2 very good CBs for that $$

I'm not going to make a speculation of this, becuase odds are, the only reason they have interest is becuase it's Revis. But, POSSIBLY could the reason they have this much interest is that they're looking at not only improving in the secondary but want to completely set out to bolster it?? Belichick's done this before at a certain position. Good examples are when he loaded up on the WR's in 07, and last year when he loaded up on the front 7 in the early part of the draft.

Now, I'm not saying look at this as some sort of sign, but it could show indication in what they want to do with this secondary.

No one will give him a 60 million contract after being injured.......................maybe the raiders

5 YEARS for 50 million sounds fine.

Yikes.

You could almost sign 3 Aqib Talib's with that money, let alone two.

Revis wanted $16m a year from the Jets a losing franchise. Maybe after going through a serious injury and now this he'd see value in being part of great winning franchise.
