Is it me or does it feel like there's less hype for this weekend with the multiple sports stories breaking?? I mean it's Thursday and I'm not feeling the hype like last week.

Chip Kelly
Manti T'ao scandal
Hockey starting
Lance Armstrong
Baseball HOF
Francona book

I know exactly what you mean. I'm guessing based on last year there's only 1 new team (Falcons) in these games and besides ray Lewis retiring they are struggling to find angles to hype them up. Most are expecting Pats-9ers wins.

Unfortunately, the media especially WEEI loves to beat stories like Lance Armstrong and Manti T'ao to death. You know sports stories that really have nothing to do with sports. 98.5 loves the Francona book because WEEI is the flagship station of the Red Sox and Shaunessey is a 98.5 regular.

I don't know. Some shows are dedicating a lot of time and effort to the game and others aren't. Dennis and Callahan are all about the non-sports stories stories and to mostly only talk the Pats/Ravens game when they have guests on. Felger and Mazz are doing mostly the Pats/Ravens game and pride themselves on not talking Lance Armstrong at all (although Felger is getting a lot of mileage on picking the Ravens which has something to do with it).

Chip Kelly getting hired probably has a lot to do with it. Any time someone within the Eagles organization so much as breaks wind, it's non-stop on NFL Network and ESPN for a week straight.

It does seem that way, not because of the hockey, baseball and Franco book. The scandals, especially this Manti Te'o story, knocked a lot of sports programming out of wack. And you know this will be all the talk tomorrow as well.

I dunno. Look at ESPN and ESPN Boston. Lots of football too. The Comcast show has been Pats focused. The Boston Globe and Boston Herald are certainly covering the Pats.

I think we're getting the normal hype.

There are just some other stories out there that the media can't ignore....

accurate observation-
sadly, last weekend had more media hype (manning etc)
proving that even after decades...
the mainstream media is still biased toward the New England Patriots Organization.

this week has been flying by for me...can't believe it's almost game day. Really haven't watched anything sports besides go on and read a few pats articles and usually just stay on here. Maybe becasue 3/4 teams were here last year?

It's flying for me too... Last week crawled by. I dunno maybe it wil hype back up on Saturday and certainly Sunday.

Maybe this is a good thing...

I'm really not as nervous as I was last week either... It's weird.. That will probably change come Sunday morning and especially during the nFC game

i will be a bit nervous when i get to the parking lot and start watching the early game..trying not to get nervous becasue i can't control the outcome and if they lose..it just wasn't meant to be...how i look at it now
