I don't like Atlanta's chances because, to me, they are a team that does everything at a "good enough" level, but there isn't a single thing they do exceptionally well. Those kinds of teams don't really have a history of postseason success.

I really don't want to face the 49ers if we go to the SB..but i think that will be the match up

Ryan was 5th in the NFL in passing yardage this season. White and Jones is probably the best WR duo in the game, and Gonzalez can still get it done (93 receptions) at age 36. On the other side of the ball, Justin Smith's elbow is still not right, and that's had a huge impact on Aldon. Atlanta's not only got a real shot to win this game: they should win it.

The key, IMO, is keeping "The Randy Moss of quarterbacks" in the pocket. That's where I see this game being won/lost.

Seattle's D wasn't the same without Chris Clemons. Just as the addition of Aqib Talib caused a positive "domino effect" on the Pat's D, so the loss of Justin Smith and of Clemons had a negative domino effect on SF's and Seattle's defenses. In the case of Seattle, they got no effective pressure on Matt Ryan all day, plus having to start Bruce Irvin at RDE adversely effected their run defense. Atlanta wouldn't have come close to putting up 30 on Seattle with Clemons. No pressure kills any D. The 2 key Ryan completions on the last drive were both on ineffective blitz attempts, because Seattle couldn't ge any pressure at all without blitzing.
Not that I disagree with you mayo but you can only beat who you play.

Yeah, but the falcons would most likely be a wild card this year if the Saints had not been dismantled. They lost once against our coachless team, and would have lost the 2nd game if SP was coaching. Their schedule is one of the weakest in the NFL, and most of the wins are come from behind and 1-5 pts vs not the best teams. The media is right that they are overrated.
They have alot of problems that we have seen threw the years. Play calling, and coaching is pretty medium. They dont adjust at all. Ryan is a pure pattern passer. So if you knock guys off route he will miss his throws. White has led the NFL in dropped balls for most of his career. And they have no fire to them at all because of their fans. Fans are not very supportive, and give up easy. That hurts the soul of a team I think. We really only respect tony gonzalez, and mike turner on that team. Those are some great players, and need to be accounted for. 9-10 you shut those 2 down the whole tean dies. The rest is a magic trick.
If your lucky , by some fluke, um like SF putting a rookie at QB late in the season, youll get the Falcons. You will beat them for sure, we always do. Heck we own their Dome,,, if you call that a dome. BB can coach just as well as SP, and falcon OL is not good.
falcon coaching = asured #1 seed , still played everyone in last game vs Bucs and lost, explain that math and logic, we were dumbfounded. Smith is kind of a nut job, and copied everything of that team from the SP, trying to beat him, even down to the 5 ft 4 rogers to do what sproles does. No origonality on that team at all.

Pherein I know you & me both are from New Orleans. I currently live in Houston @ the moment. I've a question for you. What are people saying about Atlanta possibly playing in the SB in New Orleans? We'll know how deep the Saints/Falcons rivalry is. I heard something about how an airport employee threw eggs @ the Saints bus when they played the Falcons in Atlanta in the regular season. A lot of people in New Orleans still haven't got over the loss to the 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs last year as well. I'm guessing if New England beats Baltimore, they'll pretty much be the home team in the SB. I don't see hardly anyone from the Big Easy rooting for Atlanta or San Francisco in the SB. What are your thoughts?

You were of a similar opinion last week weren't you Kontra? The 49ers are an enigma on the road. If the Falcons can get out to an early lead and force Kaepernick to throw rather than rely on his legs to create plays, this game becomes incredibly interesting.

I've picked the 49ers but it wouldn't surprise me if Atlanta won.

Yep. I thought the Seahawks were going to win and they almost did. I had the NFC down to the Packers and Niners when it came to the best all around teams. So I'm going with the Niners in this one.

Yeah, hey HP, hope its going well for you. LOL, its pretty equil to the NE/Jets rivally, except I think the falcon fans are much more hostile. We consider them the philly of the south. That was the 3rd egging agaisnt us in the SP years, and they egged GB's bus to. Surprised it was on the news.
We really dont see the Falcons making it to the SB here. ITs almost a joke to thinks so. They got a gimme this year, and would have lost division if we were not dismantled. We know there team very well, and they are not a match for NE or SF. But NE playing the Falcons is the best outcome for NE.
So its conflicting. 1/2 dont want the Falcons to win anything and be at our dome, and 1/2 care more about NE wining and know the Falcons are the simplist team to beat. But the problem with NE vs Falcons is they are going to hate their fans in person. Atlanta is not old south anymore, they are more fake gansta, rude, extreme, and burn their own team jersey every year.

They make fun of us for being old south, poor, and a relic of a city.
Even Falcon players talk bad about their fans when they leave.

IF by some fluke the Falcons do make it into the SB vs NE, Im calling in the favor for when we beat the Colts, lol. Most Saints fans are supporting NE right now, but everyone will if your in the SB vs Falcons, and your fans treated like kings/Queens while your here, lol. Regardless, we remeber your kindness as fans when we played. Your team is a champion but your fans repesent well. WE Would be very pleased to see you again. Lots of love for NE fans here. You were very kind to a losing, no history team, and think we learned a lot from you how to lose with grace and dignity as fans. Your very respected here. We still have much to learn from you about success, lol, not sure we really understand it. Your fans kind of shine like a diamond in the NFL of how to act even if you are a great legacy team, dont think we havent noticed :)

We dont really hate 49ers to much, their fans were annoying, but thats usually when you get your but kicked. I think 90% blame gregg Williams for that lost, and the problem this year. I dont think anyone hates the 49ers much, and we kind of respect Alex Smith now, and think the change in QB was silly so late in the season when Smith was doing good. Wont be much hate for SF fans here if its NE VS SF.

We think SF is good with Alex Smith, and the rookie is just that. We think Falcons dont belong there and would not be there if we were a full team, and they didnt have such an easy schedule. Thats not homerism, its objective.

Patriots are going to win the SB, and we will be honored that they will win it in our Dome. We hope they play SF because then Brady can beat the team of the greatest QB to play the game Montana. Im sure he will be at that game if SF is in it. When Brady wins his 4th SB in our Dome, he will be the best QB historically, because his playoff wins are better than Montana.
Very cool for that to happen in our Dome, and we will make sure and congratulate all the NE fans that come, show them respect for all the years that where not so great, and let them know we are very proud of the Patriots. No matter what if your in the SB, we will be cheering with you, there and in our homes.
We know what we stand for even if we are old south ,antiquated, and no one cares for those common values, and thought anymore. Maybe we are a relic, but its who we are, and believe.
And today we believe in the Patriots. Belief has no deviation.

you really should make a patriots video from this song before SB, this is your battle cry :)

Great song! I feel where you're coming from about the Falcons. Atlanta in a lot of way reminds me of a baby New Orleans. Of course I'm not looking past the Ravens this sunday. It's just human nature as a fan of picturing the team you root for playing in the SB! BB would cuss me out for even mentioning the SB. LMAO! Good thing I'm just a fan. I can't wait to see Payton return back the Saints sidelines next season! We'll know Brees is still one of the best QB's in the league (top 3 with Brady & Rodgers IMO). I don't hold this past year against him @ all. Take BB away from the Pats for a year and Brady & company would struggle significantly. He'll still be successful. But our team as whole won't be the same. I'm going to be a nervous wreck this weekend!
