Re: John Fox:The reality is, we had a good season. We got to the elite eight

"The reality is, we had a good season. We got to the elite eight," coach John Fox said after the game. "I'd like to have been that team to hoist the trophy, but we're not.

That sounds suspiciously like a certain Bruins GM a couple of years ago.

THE Manning face.....I can't stand this POS

Re: John Fox:The reality is, we had a good season. We got to the elite eight

Come on, what is he supposed to say? "We should have won this game, we should have won the super bowl, we suck for not doing that, I will be drifting in and out of a catatonic state right after this press conference". It was a platitude, a "I'm proud of our guys" or a "we left everything on the field" or a "there is no group of guys I'd rather go into battle with more than these guys". Every coach does it after a playoff loss.....hmmm, has BB done it?

With that said I prefer these platitudes wait until the dust settles -- not right after a bitter loss.

Aaaah, another heartwarming chokejob by Manning!!
Excellent! I'm looking forward to see how his ball-licking mediot supporters spin this loss.
So reminiscent of the game-breaking INT to Tracey Porter in the Superbowl against the Saints!

Lovely! Just a shame it wasn't a Patriots player who dealt the deathblow to Manning's playoff hopes.
Then again seeing PM "one and done" again is also quite amusing!

:D

You may be stretching it a bit with this "elite" business.

The Broncos ran the No Huddle yesterday, not the 'Hurry Up'. Big difference. By the time Manning is done reciting War and Peace behind center, the Ravens were able to reset and communicate. What's the point of even doing the No Huddle...?

The Patriots have different gears to the No Huddle, one of which is a true HURRY UP. Brady gets to the line and makes one or two audibles and the ball is snapped, over and over and over again as they march down the field. The opposing defense gets gassed and the offense stays in complete sync. It's effective and fun to watch. I didn't see anything close this type of No Huddle in the Denver/Baltimore game yesterday.

...yet Manning continues to get kudos on being a mystro, a magician, a general. There have been several former teammates of P. Manning that have said alot of what he is doing is just for show to try to confuse the D or make them jump (BS!), the offense only needs to hear one or two key words to know the play call.

I wonder how Koppen would view/rate the two HOF QBs now having one full season with Manning.

Peyton is a great quarterback and will go down in history as one of the best passers ever, but the eternal media debate of "Manning vs Brady" should be a non-contest by now.

There is no more compelling evidence of Mannings ineptness in the clutch and his lack of outspoken leadership/control over his team than what was shown in that game yesterday.

The 2012 Broncos was the most complete team of the 2012 regular season and despite the defense definitely had a bad day, it's still a fact that Flacco ran the Ravens offense (coordinated by Jim [insert blank smiley] Caldwell) better than Manning ran the Broncos.

Manning = No heart, pure business.

Re: John Fox:The reality is, we had a good season. We got to the elite eight

It's been 6 years now that the AFC west hasn't sent more than one team to the playoffs. It's been 10 years that they haven't had a representative in the super bowl. That division is beyond pathetic and winning it means nothing. Your team is a fraud

Re: John Fox:The reality is, we had a good season. We got to the elite eight

I also couldn't believe it when Manning took the knee with 36 seconds left. They only had to get to field goal range, what was the problem? If the Patriots had done the same, I'd have been completely flabbergasted. But I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have.

Anyway, good for us that they did. Thanks, John, hope that "Elite Eight" pennant looks good hanging in Mile High.

watching hoge and difler defending manning. On the pick "Shouldve nver come to it if their Defense played the situation." And people wonder why pats fans hate manning.

Personally its the ballwashing which i hate about manning. As a player he has choked but also has had unfortunate experience of playing with coaches who dont have any balls to coach in a big game.

Hmmm, sounds like he should have done a better job picking his team. ...

Sorry maybe I didnt express clearly. Iam not falling prey to manning myth. I think brady is much greater than manning. And I didn't mean brady doesnt get input and has no say in the gameplan playcalling etc. He has same latitude as manning. I meant about the same sideline decisions where bb makes the call and not brady and he just follows it and he is fortunate to have BB who is bold enough to put the game in his best player's hands and go for a win instead of playing safe.

Not giving manning a pass on playcalling or what he runs. He owns it .What manning runs he has to own it because everyone assumes he is calling the plays. More on sideline decsions , to punt vs go for it. To kneel down vs try and score pts. On these situations at least he has been stuck with very conservative coaches IMO.

John Fox looked pretty ballsy to me when the Panthers ripped off 39 points in 31 minutes against the greatest Patriot defense ever.

Fox certainly wasn't shy on that day.

Del Homme was bombing.

One of the things that is most pathetic are those Denver fans jumping on the Manning career as if he's always been with Denver and they've hijacked onto Colts fan territory.

Colts fans must find it weird watching Manning play for another team and be ~successful but what do they think watching the Broncos fan base bathe in the Manning light as if they lived and died with it.

Taking the Manning vs Brady 'debate' personally as if Broncos pride rests on it.

Manning to me is like the Lebron james of the NFL....great during the regular season, but when it comes to the playoffs has a tendency to choke.

LeBron was unstoppable in the playoffs last year...and most other years outside the finals (though he dominated the thunder)

Iam also hearing a lot of the same. Manning never had a great defense in indy(even though its the offense which the dropped the ball in all those losses) and today - manning had a great defense which let him down today. Going both ways without blaming manning.

This is so false. The colts gave up the LEAST points in the entire league in 07. And in 06, although their d was nothing special all season, was great in the playoffs aside from that one game we won't mention. His defense carried him to his only sb win, he threw 3 tds and 7 picks in four games. Throughout the other years, colts usually had a pretty good pass defense, in 08 they only gave up SIX touchdown passes. They always had good pass rushers in Freeney and Mathis.

Even in his big losses in indy his bad D played well. Its the offense which cost them the games but people just overlook it.

Dont know if that was fox. Its the way the game went.Until that final game, he really relied on his running game to get there. Fox maybe a good coach but I wont consider him a bold coach. Last yr in denver vs the pats I remember it was 4th and inches for denver vs taking a 10 yard penalty on 3rd down and bb knew fox will kick the fg and even simms said it on the broadcast that fox is a very conservative coach and thats what happened and fox went to lose that game when he had chance to be aggressive.

POLL: P. Manning v. Marino

I don't want to get into a discussion about these two, but I am curious about your responses to this poll.

Which of these two would you you take for one game and one game only:

It's pretty hilarious. I went on the broncos forum and it's as if i was reading the old Colts forum.
