...If we make it that far I like our chances against what the NFC has to offer, SF or whoever. Just gotta stay healthy. SF beat us but I think the momentum of that 2nd half would favor us in a rematch.

SF would probably be favored over Balt,CIN,HOU,and INDY by 3 plus. DEN and NE (approx.
-3) favored over SF.

As good as San Fran and seattles defenses have played, I just don't know how you go against Rodgers.

I can't imagine a rookie qb winning 3 road games to make it to the superbowl either, no matter how good his defense has played.

Green Bay, despite their many flaws is the match up that worries me most if they get to the Super Bowl. Rodgers is a big concern.

I guess there are no Deadwood fans on Patsfans

I actually think the Patriots match up better with Green Bay than Atlanta. They are one dimensional, and Rodgers, although good, has not been as dominate as last year.

I Luv our chances with BB when we faced a team during a season then went to a superbowl especially games vs Steelers & Rams). Year they won SB vs Rams they played them in foxboro earlier that season and lost, Bill revised his D plan of not blitzing so much but Jammin and bein physical with Ram receivers and bringin heat at certain times.
Pats faced this season :
AFC - Ravens, Broncos, Texans.

NFC - Seahawks, 49ers

Ravens - Early in season with a lead late , refs were wearing Lewis T-Shirts.

Broncos - Beat PM at his own game, TB added speed to no-huddle "O"

Texans - Solid effort, exploited Texans as a legit #3 Seed.

Seahawks - Had'm on'da ropes in their hostile environment couldn't cash in needed that FG at half time would have been difference. Many chances to get TDs. Heave TD late in 4th qtr for like 60 yds, with our "D" then, whatelse?!

49ers - I'm not one too make excuses but IMO I thought weather effected Ridley & Vareen. Niners & Kap came out with a chip on their shoulders and for whatever reason Pats didn't answer until late with a valiant comback that fell short.

Going up against any of those teams I listed Pats played already this season, Our chances are that much improved & better providing Talib & Dennard come back 100% ready to go. Gronk back to an already explosive "O" makes it that much tougher for opposing DC to plan for.

That trend ended last year.

What if that works the other way? What if a team we beat makes adjustments and we wind up losing the second game?

I like our chances, but this is going to be a tough road.

Color me delusional, but I think that this is Atlanta's year.

It's interesting that the thread got to page 6 with nary a mention of the Falcons. I know it's fashionable to talk about Seattle, and San Francisco got most of the ink this year, and Green Bay is an NFL darling, but it's rather striking how little discussion there has been of Atlanta.

They faltered down the stretch and wrapped up the playoffs and likely home field so early that they lost interest. With a team like that, you worry about being able to flick the light switch back on. Yet, when they got a prime time game, they demolished the Giants 34-0. Also, they are good at home and they have HFA. Their only home loss of the year was the last game of the year, which they walked through and was meaningless.

I think Atlanta is going to cruise to the Super Bowl this year without too much turbulence. You'd think someone would talk about them, but the Jets deciding not to fire Rex Ryan probably got more ink than the Falcons have all year.
