Survey of MVP voters suggests Peyton leads Peterson

No one embodies "Most Valuable Player" for a team more than Adrian Peterson! Great season ever by an individual player? I say yes!

I think Peterson will win it. Peyton took an already middle of the road team and made them elite, Peterson took a pretty bad team, with a pretty below average QB and brought them to the playoffs. He's more valuable.

Had the Vikings lost that game, Peyton should've won it, but with Peterson's Vikings making the playoffs...I don't even think it'll be all that close.

You underestimate the man crush the media has on the mannings.

At the near end of the game today, AP was carried off the field by his own teammate. That says it all.

I was about to post something similar. That last drive with under 2 minutes to go and needing points to make the playoffs, the Vikings are handing the ball off. How many teams would be passing in that situation? I'd say 31.

When do they announce MVP again? I forget every year.

It's honestly no different than the crush they have on Brady...QBs are the face of a franchise and successful QBs are praised by the media probably more than they deserve. They also put a lot of blame on them when things go wrong, it's the NFL, that's how things work...

Not sure why Rodgers is not even being mentioned. After this last game, he's done it again. 39TD's 8 interceptions almost 4300 yards. Most efficient passer rating again.

Don't even start. It's not comparable.

And I don't believe this is a debate.

Who would you take? A RB with probably the best season ever for a running back that took his absolutely terrible team to the playoffs. Or a QB who has a pretty good season, but nothing unheard of, actually it's not nearly as good as Rodgers a year ago or Brady two years ago, that took his already playoff team to a 1st seed with a cakewalk schedule beating nobody?

Peterson comes back from a torn ACL in less then one year and leads his team to the playoffs. Vikings were 3-13 last season, Peterson brings them to the playoffs and 9 yards away from the season rushing record. Unreal!

Broncos made the playoffs last season, what's so special about what Manning has done this season? Give him comeback of the year, not MVP. And btw, he should share that comeback of the year award with Peterson!

Don't start what? I'm confused as to which point you're trying to make here...

I already said I think AP is the clear MVP and it's not even really a debate.

If you want to argue that the media treats the Manning's better than they treat Brady, I'll argue that all day. The media overhypes all QBs and under hypes most other positions. The elite QBs all receive ridiculous treatment, and with Brady and Manning being the two best, it's the same ridiculous treatment. The only reason anyone would deny that is if they're a big PM fan or Tom Brady fan...

I love Peyton, but he hasn't always been a Bronco...I can see how he's treated and it's the same as what it is for Brady.

If that's not what you're arguing then I think we're on the same page; AP is the MVP.

Adrian Peterson won the MVP today. I won't be surprised if he wins 2 of the 3 major individual trophies (MVP, OPOY, CPOY).

The first part was too you for comparing Manning media love vs Brady.

The second part I wasn't arguing with you, just making a point :D

sorry but manning is winning it

CPOY is "major"...

you're either insane or blind deaf and dumb...Brady gets derision, sexual innuendoes,"he's a system QB", he's fragile, he can't throw long,he's wimpy, he's not clutch...blah blah blah...I'm not gonna sit here and "you tube" and ESPN sound byte you back to the stone age but, please, just shut it with that idiotic crap you're spewing.

Manning has the MVP on lockdown. Man, does the NFL love to slobber his knob.

Don't be silly, guys of course Peyton deserves the MVP! Didn't you see what he did this year? He took at team that made the playoffs last year, and even made it to the divisional round, and he TOOK THEM TO THE PLAYOFFS! It is truly unprecedented for a quarterback to take a battle-tested playoff team to the playoffs. Even more unprecedented are his good-but-not-historically-good numbers. There were quarterbacks who put up better numbers, but out of those quarterbacks ZERO of them were named Peyton Manning. Sure some other player (Adolf Peters or something) singlehandedly led a 3-13 squad to the playoffs while putting up some of the best numbers in NFL history, capping it off with a big run at the end of the game to put his team in position for a game-winning field-goal, but Peterson put up a mere ZERO passing touchdowns all season. ZERO PASSING TOUCHDOWNS. It's a joke that anyone would ever mention him! When you take all of these factors into consideration, it is obvious that Manning should not only win the MVP but also be inaugurated as the next President of the United States, and possibly as the Divine Ruler of the Universe.

But he lost 1 less game than Tebow!

For years Peyton fanboys in the media have been feeding us the narrative that Manning was solely responsible for his team's success, that the Colts wouldn't win a game without Manning, that each year Manning was dragging along a team of scrubs to the playoffs. This only got worse last year when the Colts threw the season, but now they're 11-5 with a rookie quarterback (a great quarterback, but a rookie nonetheless) and headed to the playoffs. The media doesn't seem to want to abandon the myth that Peyton is a God among men, tragically condemned to play on the worst team in the league, even though he's on a team that went to the playoffs with Tebow last year.

Peyton's one of the best quarterbacks to play the game, but he really hasn't done anything to deserve the resounding calls for MVP this season, except come back from an injury, but we have an award for that too.

It's going to be a damn shame when Peterson loses out to the forehead and he will lose, make no mistake about it. all you need to know about the sportswriters and Manning is the fact that you had a few of them wanting to give him the MVP LAST YEAR when he didn't even freakin play. Its pathetic.
