Rivera was also injured during the game.

The special teams coverage was pretty awful.

In 100% hindsight another special teamer on the active roster might have helped.

I realize Tracy White was out for this game, but ************, is he that pivotal to this special teams. How many ******* holding calls did they get.
Not to mention that onside kick, which, as usual, was a joke.

The punts and the kickoffs were also oftentimes short.

Get off this forum. I'm ashamed that you root for the same team I do.

Brady's tackle was awesome!

Who in the current MVP race could have accomplished what Brady had to over come. Brady is a one man show. He almost won this game all by his damn self. HE NEVER GAVE UP.

brady should have started throwing more in the second quarter.

well........I'd like the pats chances in another game against the niners......their defense was staggering in the end

I wish the pats did some hurry up in the first half.....

all of a sudden, woodhead is the only RB we can count on...... at least out in the elements

SF players took a few shots tonight....Justin Smith looks pretty banged up wit that elbow...and Aldon smith hurt his shoulder it looked like...look, they outplayed the Pats pretty much 2 to 1 in the first half...NE established theit hurry up and pretty much drove at will in the 2nd half with good field position...there's no guarantee SF even makes the Bowl...they have a real slugfest coming up with Seattle...meanwhile,the Pats seem relatively healthy coming out of this game....and the oine thing I loved seeing was how enraged Brady gets when he's losing...we are the luckiest fans in the NFL and half of us don't even realize it....if you don't believe me just contrast what Brady did coming back tonight to what Mark Sanchez did earlier in the season against them.

yeah he wears uggs and has a foo foo hairdo sometimes and dances at carnival in Rio like a euro trash wimpf...yeah...;and he's one of the toughest SOB's on a football field I've ever seen in my life watching this league....THAT is why the real tough guys in this league like Ray Ray love playing against him...they know too.

I like the chip on the shoulder role...this team plays its game it can win anywhere...and the GRONK beckons

Kyle Arrington showed why he shouldn't be playing outside the hash marks.

Woodhead showed why he's our most trusted RB.

Welker has great quickness, but seems like he really lost a lot in terms of straight line speed.

This loss sucks, but the silver lining is that these are the only way we're going to lose in the playoffs. At least now BB has evidence he can show his team what not to do come playoff time.

Might be a blessing in disguise.

Hernandez looked terrible tonight. Waving at balls, shying away from contact. We really need Gronk back. Hopefully that will fix Ridley too.

It is clear that Aaron Hernandez is nowhere near full health. In addition to his alligator arms tonight, his lack of explosiveness was on full display. He isn't a deep threat or backfield threat, and he can't break tackles. Obviously Gonk's health is imperative, but lets remember how amazing AH can be at 100%. I hope his ankle continues healing and he is better in a few weeks.

Wouldn't be surprised if Kaepernick comes out the closet as the first openly gay NFL player. I'm dead serious. Couldn't stand this ugly mutt before this game and understandably I can't stand him even more after. He probably has 30 dudes back in San Fran ready to play all night. He's known to them as the "San Francisco 69er."
You are an embarrassment to Pats fans everywhere.

the first 35 minutes or so couldn't have played out worse for us yet we were able to come back and tie it. My thoughts are pretty simple.

1) This is the last time I will specify this, Tom Brady is the best Quarterback in football. This now will be accepted as common knowledge and no longer needs to be said.
2) After getting benched throughout the playoffs because of ball security issues, you'd think Riddley would be a little more cautious with the ball. You know that had to be a point of emphasis in preparation this week and he still put it on the ground.
3) Hernandez is an elite tallent but he has to be a little more consistant
4) We were bullied on both sides of the ball. Pass rush was garbage and the protection was shoddy early in the game.
5) Coverage team needs to do a better job. Gin fumbled and there was nobody within 10 yards of him to recover
6) "holding on the receiving team, 10 yard penalty from the spot of the catch."
7) excellent adjustment at halftime
8) Arrington should never see the field unless its in the slot
9) If Gronk plays we win this game
10) I don't think its any coincidence that 3 of our 4 losses were to NFC west teams. They play solid defense and pretty much pulled out all their tricks for us. Not only that but the Patriots haven't seen any of them in 4 years. Its pretty clear that the pats have trouble playing teams they don't regularly see.

god this was a huge game....pats have never made the SB as a 3 or 4 seed.....going against the grain this year? lets hope....and denver fans already licking their chops at playing us there this time around

hernandez and welker drop way too many passes. i can't wait till gronk gets back.

Took way too long for the Pats to get comfortable. One of those games you wish there was a 5th quarter.

Too bad about Talib getting tangled up and falling to the knee. Definitely could of changed the outcome possibly. Still a nice play regardless. Defense by the 2ndary left a lot to be desired in the first half but definitely got better considering some of the spots the offense put them in. Arrington is good for his usual one or two bad plays and that one hurt, especially at the given time.

At the end of the night I'll tip my cap to the 9ers for capitalizing on the turnovers they forced and exploiting the matchups for the first 3 quarters. And then playing tough when the game was on the line on both offense and defense. Brady threw the kitchen sink at them and at the end they took a piss in it and walked out of the Razer victors.

I truly thought the Pats were going to win this game handily. If they play this team again I feel the same way. Especially on a neutral field like the Superdome for instance with a healthy Gronkowski. The running game is far more respected and effective with him in the lineup which makes one on one coverage very tough to play.

So now our road will most likely go through Denver. Makes it tougher but maybe the extra game will keep them competitive with a edge? In the end it comes down to winning 4 games in a row once the playoffs start. Teams seem to do it all the time lately. So why not us?

I don't think the Patriots deserved this one, but I was pretty livid to see 3 straight holding calls against the Patriots on the return game, and then a 65 yard kickoff return with multiple holds, none of them called against the 49ers.

Meh.

I feel like if you score more points than the other team, it doesn't matter how "ugly" the win was. The Pats surely played poorly in the first half, but to say they were undeserving of the win when they scored 28 straight on the best defense in the NFL to tie it up, is a little harsh.

i am not worried about denver. they're feeling great bc they've played a cupcake schedule.

We should stop blaming the refs. Our first half performance was one of the worst in patriot history, certainly in Brady history. If SF was playing better, we would have been down by much more.
