Best sandwiches on Morris Pk. Ave In Da Bronx.
My favorite is "Godfather" Hero.............
Eggplant, Capicola, Provolone, Roasted Peppers Splash Of Oil & Vinegar on a Seeded Hero Italian Bread.

Best Sandwich shop in your (my) area?

There are none in my area, so I make my own at home. I've been in NorCal for a long time, but I remember a few back in the Boston area that were great, one by name specifically (Santoro's in Peabody) which is still there it looks like. No, sad to say, great subs never made it out here. Other sandwich shops? Nothing to write home about either. San Francisco probably has some, but I'm too far from there to go for just a sandwich. There are definitely some great restaurants in SF though.

Umm, hullo? Sourdough bread?????????????

That's not too far from where I live. I'll have to check it out. Those pics look artery clogging-ly good.:D

You'll hate me when you see the "ambience" of the place! (as I recommended, get it to GO) :D

Sure, but there are no sub shops near me that use it to make sandwiches to sell me. I still have to buy what you say, and, say, genoa, capicola, mortadella, provolone, and the veggies, whatever, and make my own.

Ahh what I would give for a jr. roast beef sandwich with sauce like on the Mass. north shore. That or a nice cheese steak. J+M deli in Saugus had the best Ive ever had. The rolls they put their cheese steaks on was incredible. Not to many sandwich shops down here in the sticks of North Carolina.

For me it's not the whole sandwich, it's the bread. The true grinder rolls used in New England cannot be topped - the crusty italian loaf with an interior that is dense and chewy.

Down here it's mostly PoBoy's (french bread). If fresh they are pretty darn good - People's Market on Conti off of Bourbon St. used to make a killer fried oyster PoBoy.

But I would kill for a real Italian deli grinder like I used to get at Sam's Bakery on Rt 9 in Shrewsbury.

Whats the best one near Reading MA?

That looks amazing but when and if I get back to N.O. you can sure bet I am going straight for an oyster PO Boy and some Craw Daddies. Then ****ie Brennan's Steak House too, me and my father just stumbled in there back in 02 the night before that SB and there was an hour wait or more for a table and we happened to walk right up to the bar when two guys were getting up and got out steaks right there no wait. One of the best steaks I have ever had too.

I skipped out on this thread a while ago so if someone already asked this, sorry. Has anyone tried the Invincible from big y? If so how is it

I've been to Brennan's, but not to ****ie Brennan's. Tell me that I'm getting a day of

Beignets for breakfast
Po'boy for lunch
Turtle soup as a mid-day snack

and then set me up for a nice supper at one of the great restaurants, and I'm feeling pretty HomerSimpsonish:

The food in NOLA is so good.

Laissez les bon temps roulet!

There's a decent kebab shop near me. Does that count?

The best Sandwich shop I can think of in London is this one:

Fuzzys Grub - Home

They do proper slabs of meat and you can have any number of combinations of salad, or veggies, to go with them. I miss this place (I work on the other side of London now).

Cat, I lived in the UK for 6 months back in the 1980's.

I remember the "one slice of jellied ham in white bread" that was called a sandwich.

Unless things have changed...... :)

LOL @ "Fuzzy's Grub". What a great name!

I'll have a proper slab of meat on a half loaf of Italian, please.

There's a deli in Milford, MA called Oliva's. They have these triangle subs with Italian meats, cheeses, vegetables and dressing on focaccia bread. Unbelievable...

Just grabbed lunch at Oliva's today! I got a grinder that was literally one half of an entire loaf of Italian bread. The sandwich was 12-14" long and about 6-7" wide. It was an Italian type, and it was very tasty. The bread was kick ass from a bakery about a half mile away. Thumbs up!

Mousie's in Warwick, R.I. A small Jewish deli that has insane sandwiches.

They're mostly named after famous people.

My favorite. The James Woods. Turkey, hard boiled eggs, onions, meunster cheese, russian dressing. This is just one of their random sandwiches though.

I wish this menu was readable.

Vote here for Super Sub, a Beverly tradition. Went there for last night. When you're craving a steak and cheese with extra cheese, it's the place to go. Bag of Utz on the side.

Glad you liked it, Recked!
