Anyone else feel like this is a must win game for the patriots? The niners defense have the recipe to succeed against Tom Brady... a dangerous front 7 that can blitz with 4 and put the rest in coverage. Reminds you of another team, does it not?

The OL has to play LIGHTS OUT so that brady has the allotted time to carve up the Niners defense.

This game IMO will let us know if the patriots are ready to win the superbowl.

i do only in a sense that if they don't win...#2 seed is gone

Not if the Ravens win.

If the Patriots lose I can still easily see them finishing 2-0 with the Ravens losing one of their last two vs the Giants and at Bengals.

Patriots What If?

Even in the worst case scenario for this week (Texans beat Colts, Donkeys beat Ratbirds, Pats lose), the Patriots still have almost a 20% chance of the #2 seed, although they no longer control their own destiny.

OTOH, the best case scenario (Colts, Ratbirds, Pats win) gives the Pats an 84% chance of being the #1 seed, and gives them control over their own fate.

Unless Baltimore beats Denver, I believe it is a must win

Ravens have their backs against the wall and are home against a guy who used to light them up all the time.

I think the Broncos got this but it's not written in stone.

Teams fighting for a wildcard spot are in must win games.

The number 2 seed is obviously in jeopardy, but I still think we can win it all with the number 3 seed. This game is important IMO because the niners are similar to the giants (probably more dangerous) and if we handle them with ease... pats will win the SB

I'm sure the Patriots look at every game as a must win.

To be quite honest I don't really care if the Pats win this. I'd like a win, but if it comes at the cost of injuries, forget it.

The nightmare of Wes or Lloyd going down is unspeakable. We literally have no other primary Wide Receivers.

I think the Hernandez/Wes/Lloyd trio is the bare minimum needed to keep this offense going.

The Patriots have no more "must win" games until the playoffs start.

I am just not sure how these two possibilities are seen as an either or situation.

Winning does not equal injuries.
losing does not equal health.

Its not a wishing machine where you can throw off one good thing in hopes of avoiding one bad thing. Nor, by winning does it insure that something bad will come from it as well. Win the game, or lose the game, the injury concern will have been no greater because of the outcome.

We all want health come the playoffs, but outside of not playing or practicing between now and the superbowl, there are no foolproof ways to guarantee it.

Every games a must win son ;)

The next "must win" game is the AFC wildcard round, or in case we gather enough "nice to win" games the AFC divisional round.

And even for the Quest for the Bye, this weeks game is the most unimportant of them all, because it would be an "Out of Conference" Loss.

Texans will lose at least 1 more so to get the 1 they will win this game against the 9ers

This is another "Statement" game aired on National TV...Just as in the last game, I have this gut feeling that This team is amped up more for this one than the Texans and they will come out and totally dominate this team. Most of all BRADY wants this game more than anything other than playoff wins! This is his hometown, childhood rooting team that bypassed him in the draft and he personally has something to prove.
Now let's once again factor in the weather..sleet, snow, freezing rain..is their QB ready to deal with this?....I know Brady is.....Boulden is back.....Ridley and Vereen are running well...O line is playing well blocking and protecting...The D is coming around especially in the secondary and hopefully Kalib is ok..and most of all...the number one overall seed is quite attainable....I'd worry more about the last 2 games of the season more than this one....38-21 Pats...and it ain't even that close folks
