Manning will be named MVP in the biggest travesty in award history

1) Only idiots use a stat that includes Skip Bayless's opinion.:)

Sorry, had put a dig in on "QBR".

Yes, Peyton Manning will get the MVP. Good. I want a P.O.ed Brady. I'm amazed you don't.

Skip may say some stupid things but he ALWAYS represents Brady when no one else on First Take does.

Anyone visit the Broncos forums? They have a thread similar to this started by "LoserSlick" the biggest Manning homer i ever read. I don't mind why they believe Manning should win, which is fine because they are Broncos fans but my goodness some of them are just clueless especially "LoserSlick".

MVP: Peyton Manning Vs Tom Brady? How about no.

"Peyton Manning has already had several opportunities to pull a Tom Brady and run up the score. Instead, the Broncos run the ball and kill the clock. It's called class."

"...and the best you can come up with is that Brady was unanimously voted MVP TWO seasons ago? Really?"Hate to break it to you but AP didn't unanimously vote Tom Brady MVP as much as they unanimously voted NOT to give it to Michael dogkiller Vick."

"Moving along, other than the Ravens, who else have the Patriots played exactly? The only two other "good" teams on their schedule are back-to-back HOME games against teams at the END of the season that were assumed to have long since clinched their divisions at this point (and wouldn't u know it.... yep. PRIMETIME games). Are we really supposed to be dazzled by the Patriots blowing out a depleted Texans team that's more or less already clinched their division and a first round bye?"

"Manning should have gotten MVP last year"

I could care less if Manning wins the MVP as long as we take home our 4th SB!!

I think TFB is with me on this too :rocker:

I've never seen a comment similar to this one. Congrats.

Honestly, this type of comment blows. If you don't care that Manning winning is a travesty then don't click the f'ng thread.
You and all the other ******s who come here to post the usual "SB MVP is all I care about!!!111!1!"

I don't think Manning is crying over his new weapons-1st round stud D Thomas 6'3" 230lbs, 4.36 40 time and Decker 6'3" 210lbs, 4.45 time. Every QB dreams of throwing to guys like this with a running game and top defense. he's running the same offense with better weapons, a new colored jersey and an easy schedule.

Comeback POTY sure but I don't think his current situation puts him light years ahead of anyone for MVP and as DI and others have noted he's probably at the bottom(3-5) on the list.

Stephen A and Skip are part of a staged show

I don't like Stephen A,But he is an actor portraying the anti-Brady character so he can have a heated debate on a widely watched show.

Its all an act for ESPN and its ratings

Only a naive person believes this show is not pre-set and remarks during these 'debates' are almost at a 'reading the cue card' level

This guy has the extra power homer glasses on today

@Cassanova792 It's crazy how biased both sides can be at least we have stats to back up our reasoning rather than a sob story.

It would be nice if Brady wins it, but Peyton winning is hardly a travesty.
Exactamente, señor. A travesty would be having Matt Cassell win it. :-D

I would seriously consider Andrew Luck, Adrian Peterson and JJ Watt. All those guys have had incredible impacts on their teams. Nobody is talking about Luck as far as I know and that could be the travesty.

Rob Parker and Stephen A are genuine Rodgers lovers though.

If Luck is considered than RG3 should be. Luck has thrown for 18tds and 18interceptions. That's a whole lot of interceptions lol.

Ice Ice Brady - GREAT POST!

Probably better reading then anything people are crazy enough to pay for from ESPN "insider"

So not only are ESPN analyst hopping on the AP train, so are Broncos fans all because neither group can now argue as to why Brady shouldn't be MVP. :D

Hilarious! Harsh but it needed to be said.

1)0.8% Interception on Pass Attempts
2)7.96 Adj Net Yds/Pass Att
3)Demolished #1 seed Houston (3 TD pass 0 Interceptions and a 125.4 Passer Rating) while Manning lost bad ( 3 interceptions ) to the other #1 seed Atlanta

What we are talkin about???

I really think AP deserves more serious consideration than he gets. He is dangerously close to 2,000 yards and he is basically winning games for the Vikings completely by himself. But it would be almost unheard of for a runningback on a non-playoff team to receive MVP. So they just write him off instead of doing the the media is supposed to do: highlight special cases like this that are clearly so deserving.

Barring AP, I would think Brady deserves it far more than manning based on interceptions alone. If you don't give the ball away, you are more valuable. I don't even see how there is room for Manning in the discussion. And yet here we are. Plus, we beat the Broncos like a worn rug. It makes no sense.

I don't understand the media but I find it hard to care about an award this lacking in reality. I'd like to care more about it but when it is solely based on who the media is in love with, it's very difficult. Hopefully some of them wise up before the deadline and start writing real arguments for a serious candidate.

P.S.

Screw Manning. :p

I wouldn't mind seeing AP win the MVP. He's been a monster post ACL surgery.

Same here. Brady is deserving, but I can live with another player being more deserving. The point of my post is that Brady and Manning can easily be compared, as they play the same position. And that comparison is ludicrous.

I think Adrian Peterson should win offensive player of the year and comeback player of the year. I don't think him winning just CPOY is enough, but I also don't think he's the MVP. If Brady was MVP and AP won the other two though it would feel like Peyton is being left out, but that could just be because the media has gotten into my subconscious lol.

A running back is going over 2000 yards. Why isn't he in the headline?
