The 2012 season: the Jets [Mod Edit: STILL] suck

And here is SAR with his continuing inexplicable defense of Sanchez:

We have no talent on offense. We saw knew this in May, we saw this in July, we didn't score in the preseason, we are in the same situation now as we were back then:

WE HAVE NO PLAYMAKERS ON OFFENSE.

WE CAN'T RUN THE BALL.

WE ONLY BEAT WEAK TEAMS.

WE CAN'T BEAT ELITE TEAMS.

OUR QUARTERBACK IS A PROBLEM, BUT IT GOES FAR DEEPER.

Not sure why anyone is surprised, not sure why anyone expected improvement. Hill had a brutal first year. Kerley vanishes too often. Who is Chaz Schillens? Holmes is hurt. Keller has Penningtonitis. Shonn Greene blows. Joe McKnight can't get on the field. Our OL can't stop a cold. Our coordinator is a joke.

Stop reading newspapers. Use your eyes. Our defense sucks worse than our quarterback. Our special teams suck worse than our quarterback. Our running back sucks worse than our quarterback.

Talk about THAT.

Points scored in the 6 games since MJD went down for the Jaguars and left that team with absolutely nothing:

Jax - 118
NYJ - 95

Hey, I just want to give a shout-out to the Texans fans. My wife and I were at the Welker-Knee game, and that sucked hardcore, but the fans were awesome. Just the right amount of smack talk. :D

I found the Cleveland fans to be pretty good too. The biggest dopes I saw at the stadium there in two trips were the drunk Pats fans.

The Charlotte fans were pretty good in 2001 also, but there weren't enough of them to get an accurate picture.

That Jets team with all their disorders
And their cheerleaders on their field’s borders
Share one common trait,
Just as happens by fate:
As they both will suck for four quarters!

How can you celebrate? This is breaking up the dream team of suck!

Not to worry. The Jets suckage transcends regime change. It is a delicious, vicious cycle of hope and broken dreams.

They should be renamed the New York Wasps... Quoth the Bard:

Petruchio. Who knows not where a wasp does wear his sting?
In his tail.
Katherina. In his tongue.
Petruchio. Whose tongue?
Katherina. Yours, if you talk of tales; and so farewell.
Petruchio. What, with my tongue in your tail? Nay, come again,
Good Kate; I am a gentleman.

Son of a ....... Now I'm going to have to crack out the Taylor/Burton movie version this weekend, just to get rid of the connection of the words to that picture. Curse you!

all patsfans can name the Jests HC

Its just too sweet isn't it... Hermy, Mangini, Rexy... the gift just never stops giving, that's the brilliant part of this thread, it truly represents that the Jest doesn't just suck at playing football, but have mostly always sucked and keep inventing new ways to suck...

Glorah! :D

Ah nothing like a little Shakesphere to add more class than this board already has.

A call him "Kate" Moore now.

Doctor sanchize i presume. Proctologist or obstetrician, You decide. Either way hes up to his elbows in Brandon Moore

He'd probably be asking Moore to turn his head and cough if he didn't already have his hands full.

Again, context is everything. Given Belichick's past, which includes repeatedly recording signals, practices, running up the score, being a sore loser during the handshake after the game, etc, the only respectable thing to do would be to immediately resign as HC of the NEP. He's a psychopath and everything he does is related to that.

"He's a psychopath"....

oh the ironing......

:ugh: the ethics of Losing... they are such better people than those who win once in a while... it put me in mind of Yeats' "The Second Coming," except instead of the hoped-for messiah being a "rough beast," in their case it's a literally fumbling twit... (Yes, I am apparently on an English Lit jag)

With apologies to Yeats

THE SECOND COMING

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The QB cannot see the receiver;
The play falls apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the field,
The dark-blue tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of Xs and Os is drowned;
The JEST lack all conviction, while the Pats
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Namath
Troubles my sight: in the waste of the Meadowlands;
A shape with bronco body and his head on his hand,
A gaze blank and clueless as his coach,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant McElroy.

The darkness drops again but now I know
That four decades of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a lack of titles,
And what lame JEST, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards the Meadowlands to be born?

Farce headline of the week: Jets hold out hope that Tebow will be active.

Normally I'm accustomed to hoping for things that will actually improve my life. I guess this disqualifies me from understanding their hopefulness.

Fixed that for you.

WAY too many headlines concerning the jesters rise to Farce level in one week.:D

As I've said before: the JEST QB situation will not end well.

Even ending badly left town when they extended Sanchez.

Every few weeks, I feel a moral obligation to come to this thread and post that yes, the Jets do indeed suck...and they are funny too!

Hey Mcelroy. Thank for the win last week, but we do things different here in Jets Land.

Lol RT @MMehtaNYDN: So, Rex Ryan contemplated starting Greg McElroy six days ago. Now, he makes him inactive? I'm baffled. #nyj
