I'm looking forward to Donte's humor more than anything else....when asked, what's the key to beating the SD chargers in the 2008 AFC championship game, I'll always remember Donte's response

"Kidnapping Ladanian"

How about we try Mike Williams at WR?

He's huge at 6'5 (NFL website lists him at that)

1. He sucks
2. Knowledge of the offense is the most important thing right now

Wasn't impressed with Stallworth during Training Camp. He looked slow and didn't get separation. Hopefully there was something nagging at him then and it's taken care of and he can contribute.

Really hoping that Edelman doesn't get IRed. Not sure which TWO moves the Pats are going to make. The one for the Stallworth signing and then the one to bring Bolden back.

My guess is that Develin will be cut as one move and hopefully re-signed to the PS. I would guess that the other person to be cut would be Derrick Martin since our depth at DB seems to be pretty deep now..

Stallworth might be the other cut, Bolden has a roster exemption so he might not even be active.

Edes to IR is exactly my concern too.

On a positive note, since leaving the Pats Stallworth has changed his game somewhat from a speedster to a WR who can run over people

People love Stallworth, but he's never really been a good WR. He's living off an entirely undeserved deep threat reputation.

Disagree. He WAS a deep threat guy when he first came out...and he WAS a deep threat guy when he was here in 07'.....only problem for him was that a guy named Randy Moss was on the other side running deep threat patterns as well!? I think we know who got the majority of those tosses don't we?!!! Stallworth still has some stuff left I think....he ran some really good routes this preseason and in camp....just had the dropsies...maybe they can get some stickum on those gloves!!! Welcome back Donte!

Just what we always assumed - Stallworth, Branch and Gaffney (when eligible and healthy) would all be Shadow Roster players signed if and when needed given injuries.

I don't follow other teams closely enough to know if other coaches plan this out as effectively as Belichick does each year by bringing in the guys to camp that he does

Ideally one never needs it and everyone remains healthy - but as we all know that's very rare.

Very good point. He has a list of players that didn't have enough to make the roster but could contribute when/if there are injuries. This is why Bill is the best in the business.

Great Point, Brother Joe.

I think it should be added that the biggest reason for Mad Bill's success with Ye Shadow Roster, through the years, might well not be so much his attention to detail as his great Reputation for Integrity: I don't imagine that too many Players would go s'far's to turn down a PayCheck from a team competing for their Services...But I'll bet some actually do, particularly the older ones who've already made their Money and might literally only be interested in coming back to play if it's for Mad Bill...And I would furthermore speculate that on many occasions, when all other things ~ Money and Playing Time, mostly ~ are more or less equal...Mad Bill's Integrity, even more so than the chance to compete for a Championship, breaks that Tie.

Stickum is illegal in the NFL. Has been for decades now.
But other than that, welcome back Donte!
Hopefully this guy can make a few plays for us.
Losing Edelman hurt our offense in terms of versatility.

Question, with his speed, why didn't Stallworth ever become a premiere kick returner?

Guy and Gals this could be a Great late year signing...why?

1)This is Stallworth's last chance and he is on a very good Team who he is familiar with.

2) Lets hope he can still flash some of his old Speed...which is just what this Offense Needs!

3) Brady loves WR's who can get some Separation unlike LIoyd who is always engaged to his defender.

4) Atleast let us hope Stallworth can still take a short screen pass and turn it into something Big.

5) I think Stallworth could do more than what LIoyd is doing for us at the moment. With our good running game we have Playaction at our disposal and LIoyd has not been able to take advantage of that.

6) Lets hope this signing lights a fire under LIoyd @ss!

I was Big fan of the Stallworth siging in the Offseason...he struggled in the preseason but that was then and this is now...last chance for him so he has alot to lose...I have a feeling he's going to do good and surprise alot of us.

BB has had numerous opportunities to recall Stallworth given our WR situation and chose other options every time and the fact that no one else persued him either despite some dire need. I fear this is what it is, an emergency measure as opposed to the wishful thinking of some. Branch's locker remains in tact in anticipation he will return once healthy. He has said he is close. They'd have brought him back even with a healthy Edelman. Whereas this was the only circumstance under which Stallworth gets the recall. He was revisited only after Edelman's concussion only not signed because Edelman rebounded rapidly.

I hope he can do something, just not holding my breath. They have to hope Lloyd gets his head right and steps up and exhibits some of that whatever it takes mentality that is so crucial to this offense. Ditto for Fells and Hoohoo. Not to mention the paste and patch OL. And reconfigured secondary...

i wish him the best but IMO he's a waste of a roster spot, i dont know if there are any WR's on the PS but if ther are they would have been better off calling one up

I am glad Stallworth made a little impact given that he was home on his Coach. He looks like a hungry guy who knows this is his last chance. Make the most of it Donte you will get more opportunities. Seem like he droppped one before the Big one it seemed catchable glad he made up fo it.

Ok, pass the crow...

I was surfing JI last night and a poster lamented that the Pats had signed Stallworth while the WR-needy Rats did not.

Just a thought, but maybe if the Sanchize is on the other end of that TD rather than Brady, that TD doesn't happen.

:confused2:

I'll be thrilled if his statline for Monday's game will be:

1 catch 65 yards 1 TD

This guy deserves props. Almost spot on.

Stallworth already making a huge impact, let's hope that continues. Doesn't need a TD a game just enough to make them respect it.

I would hope we can get him returning punts/kickoffs too so Welker and DMC aren't overused.

I love the fact Brady checked a play he came in as a TE and blocked Barwin on a run by vareen for a first down. Wade Phillips must hate him. Big plays on prime time over and over again.
