What's so wrong with just telling the coach "You can't challenge the play". Why the need to make it a penalty and cancel the opportunity of a scoring review. It makes no sense to me.

So it looks like a good strategy would be to throw a challenge flag on a TD that you DON'T want reviewed.

The problem I have with this rule is this. What if Gary Kubiak threw the challenge flag? Does it still cancel the review for Detroit? If so, that is a huge unfair advantage.

That was a MESS!!! Only in the NFL does this happen.

They should at least get a warning first or something. Looks like Schwartz is going to be the poster boy for this rule.

I still don't get why they even decided to make that penalty. So what the coach throws the red flag. It's gonna be reviewed anyway. Such a pointless rule.
