great...good for ol' Toe Whammer Jammer Wrecksie...I don't give a brown squirt what he does or where he goes after the Jets crash...as long as it is nowhere NEAR the Patriots.

That the other opinion I hear too. Rexy seems very devisive. I think as a DC he's not as T.O.ish. and is best suited for. He's like Norv Turner. A great coordinator but that's it.

As a head coach he can he isn't as strong. The fact that he cannot control his players is a big warning sign. With a dominant hc over top Rex's personality wouldn't be a problem. Bill certainley falls in that category. The myriad of trouble makers who stayed on good behavior while in NE makes giving him a chance a good gamble, as well. Most importantely, RR knows the division. I think he would be a good fit here (or Was ).

Rex Ryan is a fraud as a human being...THAT is the number one negative involved with hiring him and having him as the face of your football team.

He is NOT a tough guy like he brags...he's the pampered son of an ex NFL D coach/Head Coach who was brought up with all the trappings that NFL millions afford. He was a little fat, loudmouthed spoiled brat as a kid and he grew into a fat ,loud mouthed defensive coach (stealing his dad's life work). Along the way his insecurity manifested itself in a disgusting immersion into the world of deviant sexual fetishism...the role he always plays in these sex games is that of the submissive...the toe fondler...the toe $ucker. This is 180 degrees counter to his bigmouth tough guy image..and reveals who he really is inside...a trapped little spoiled fat kid still struggling with his adult psychological identity....tough guy??? Biggest joke in the history of bad jokes.

The first two years with the Jets he bragged and boasted and threatened everybody league wide and his players, the REAL tough guys, bought into it. Then they saw him for what he was, after that pathetic, disgusting toe video went viral. Since then, the Jets players have been anything BUT tough on the field and nowhere near a tenth as focused as they were his first two years. They know. He's a fraud...a fat, insecure little rich kid playing daddy's role in the only world he has ever known.

I have nothing against him pursuing his career path...anywhere...but here...keep the gluttony, deviancy, degeneracy, lying, tripping, middle finger throwing, wearing wigs and dresses, public crying, big mouth buffonery as far away from ME and MINE as possible.

How do we even know that Rex Ryan is a good DC? His first few years in NY he had a really talented roster. There's been a lot of DCs for the Ravens that look really good and then go on to do nothing. Marvin Lewis is probably the only one with long term success.

Sorry, but that line made me laugh my head off and spit-spray coffee all over the place. You owe me a replacement keyboard.

Aim low, you'll never be disappointed?

It sure would be amusing to see how he and Wes Welker got along :)

He's been a HC in the NFL for 9 seasons. That's a huge accomplishment in that of itself. His teams have made the playoffs three times and he's one dirty Steelers player away from making a serious playoff run.

Learn Football.

He's got a career 73-79 record, has made the playoffs only 3 times, and has never won a playoff game, losing by 10 points or more each time, despite being the home team for 2 of those 3 games. You may consider that "long-term success". Most people won't, and with good reason.

He has only lasted 9 years because he is willing to work for what the Bengals pay.
His HC career can not be considered successful by any measure.
I'm not sure how someone who missed the playoffs 2/3s of his seasons and has never won a playoff game is close to a serious playoff run under any circumstances.
Perhaps you should do some learning before you try to insult someone for correcting your error.

The way things are looking, Wes might be playing for the Jets next season. :(

Let me guess...that's Wrecks Cryan and...Kid Brady????

worst thread evah...

But for some odd reason, you still find someway to keep coming back. ;)

re: Rex Ryan...just "imagine" for a second... him as the DC for the Pats

We're Patriots fans so obviously our standards of good coaching are quite a bit higher. But compare Marvin Lewis to the other ~30-50 HCs that have come and gone during his time as HC.

The Bengals were considered the best or 2nd best team inthe AFC in 05. Kimo von Oelhoffen changed that quickly.

Why? Your claim wasn't a rating system.

I don't want to turn this into a Marv Lewis thread, so this will be the last time I respond to you about the subject. Earlier you accused me of ignorance. Fine. Now you're accusing me of bias. Ok. All I'll say is that I encourage you to read. Read the stats others have posted regarding Lewis' record. Search "Mike Brown", read some articles. Read about why the Patriots were able to acquire Corey Dillon. Read about what Carson Palmer did to leave. Read about why other coaches lost their jobs. After doing all that, if you still conclude Lewis has retained his employment because of performance, then best of luck to you in life, because you'll definitely need it.

Lol, you hate this thread so much that you can't stop coming back. This is great.

They were an 11-5 team, in a conference with the 14-2 Colts, 13-3 Broncos, 12-4 Jaguars, and 10-6 Patriots who were a much better team than them, not to mention the 11-5 Steelers. At best they were the 5th best team so this 'long playoff run' from a team/coach who has never won a playoff game is quite a creation of your imagination.

Nobody (except apparently you) has a standard of good coaching as making the playoffs 3 times in 9 years and never winning a playoff game while losing more games than you win. What in that resume fits into the defintion of 'good'.

re: Rex Ryan...just "imagine" for a second... him as the DC for the Pats

You're a champion at arguing. You've changed my mind.

Not.

Show me a list of active coaches you think are better than Marvin Lewis. I can't wait to laugh.
