What do you think happens to Dillion?

dillon stays..hes under contract..BB wont cut him b/c he said Corey had a good year and hes battled some injuries again.. someone will be brought into Training Camp and Preseason to compete in a way but no way is he cut before draft or anything

Dillon played well this year and was our best running back. He's not the franchise player he once was but he still can contribute well. They're smart enough to bring him back.

I say he retires or gets cut. Although he had 12-13 td's, he is slow as hell. There is not much left in the tank. It's Maroney's time now and the Pats should sign his replacement or draft him.

I agree about Dillion. He is slow, and think he just had his last season. I think with Maroney and Faulk we will be alright. Patrick Pass will also be back so I think we let Dillion go and use the Money to sign a #1 wide out. Is Pass coming back next year?

I've heard Tom "douche-bag" Casale refer to Corey Dillon as a "loser", fat-ass, washed-up, a joke and worse at various times during the season on PFW. So let's review: Corey Dillon has played for 13 seasons and is currently 14th or so in
career rushing yards. He's held up for 13 years taking a pounding by the hardest hitters in all sports...... and he's been nothing but a total-team player since coming to the Pats..... Dillon is my idea of a great, not just good, football player. I don't know what the Pats plans are for next year but I hope to see Corey Dillon play at least one more year for the Patriots..... IMHO :rocker:

Well, if he does end up going, we need someone in there that can run the ball. God knows Maroney needs to learn how to do it. The first part of the year he was good, then in the second half of the season he just started getting the ball, dancing, and falling forward at the line of scrimmage for either no or very little gain. Dillon is slow, but he's a good back to put in at goal line situations.

I forgot where I read it, but Dillion has said already that he isnt taking a paycut to stay, but would like to stay.

So I dont think restructring his contract is in the books..we etheir stick with him or cut him.

I Love Dillion, I love his powerback style of running, He's a real piece of work even off the football field. One of the most halarious guys ive ever encountered. I can imagine hes great in the locker room, Let's see.

If he does go, I liked the idea of taking a run at greg jones...he was an absolute beast in college.

A pay cut is different than fixing his cap hit.

the big question is whether Dillon was hurt or just got old.

How many games was he in there for the first quarter to only not be seen for 3 quarters thereafter. This includes the colts game.

Got to love Corey....He is a TD machine....I know his time is running down....I say draft Leonard say good bye to Pass....Coery show the ropes to both Maroney and Leonard....Leonard is a a clone to Corey....Heath Evens is good for value but I think Maroney and Leonard in the backfield would be awesome...Let hope Corey will be here with us for a year or two....I know the 2 is a long shot.....

I hope we keep him....in a lot of games this year,he made yardage against teams with tough run defences...and you need a decent RB for insurance....

Our $25 mil under the cap includes Corey's number. So, I don't see any urgency in forcing anything on him at this time. I do think that he will cooperate if the Patriots say that they need additional space for some reason.

We should bring him back for the 2007 season and let's see how Maroney does. Maroney needs work in the off season. I think that he is giving off a tell and that needs to be corrected. The last half of the year the defense seemed to know exactly where he was going before he moved.

Aversion to contact and upright running style were the dings on Moroney's scouting reports. In hindsight it looks like Addai was the better pick after one NFL season.

Hopefully, they bring in a young bruiser during the off-season. Brady will get killed without a solid running game.

You mean the guy that actually ran well against the Colts, scored a TD and juked one of their players out of his blue panties? That Dillon? I hope they take him back. Love the two backs we have, but am troubled by Maroney's playoff performances, which were weak.

The old man can still do it.

Sorry if this was already posted....but this was on the dillonator.com site Wed...

Running back Corey Dillon, had tears in his eyes as he talked about the inevitability of his retirement.

"Man," he said, "I just wish I realized earlier in my career that I didn't have to be such a selfish (expletive deleted) to be successful. Maybe I could have done more things to make the Bengals a better team when I was there, and maybe those great guys I played with in Cincinnati could have enjoyed this opportunity the way I'm enjoying it.

"I just hope all you guys realize that I never meant anything personally by what I said or did," he continued, his voice quivering. "I've had a great run here in New England, I love this game, and I just never understood that the best way to let everyone else know how much I loved it would have been to be more open and respectful of you in the media, the fans and most importantly, my teammates."

It was a truly touching moment when Patriots' media relations director Stacey James led a sobbing Dillon away from the podium to compose himself out of range of the prying eyes of reporters and cameramen.

He will restructure his deal or He will be cut. March 1st is the date it will happen either way.

Dillon may retire. The long lapses between plays and/or series this season may be an indication of the long term physical abuse his body has absorbed.

Ha has ha. This is you, Felger, isn't it? You crack me up!
