Yes I would take mallet over all of them. Tannehill is currently the only one of the 3 that shouldn't be worried about being murdered by the fan base.

Starters:

Brady
Tanehill
Fitzpicksix
Sanchez

Backups:

Moore
Tebow
McElroy
Thigpen
Jackson
Mallett

That's the list. Mallett hasn't shown himself to be better than any of them. Mallett's down with McElroy in the "totally unproven" group.

An interesting question, IMO, is whether or not Sanchez (72.9) and Fitzpicksix (75.7) are better than Moore (80.1), Tebow (75.2), Jackson (77.7) and/or Thigpen (72.5).

I'm not sure I'd slot either of the starters at the top of that group.

Re: JEST/Texans: who are you rooting for?

I think if you really want to get the best idea you should take tie and asteroid off the poll, I can see alot of people voting for those 2 instead of being forced to pick who they'd rather win.

Consider it a "protest" vote. :)

Re: JEST/Texans: who are you rooting for?

Math Test for you:

(A) Count up all Patriots fans are rooting for the Jets tonight?

(B) Count up all Red Sox fans are rooting for the Yankees to win the World Series?

C) Add (A) and (B) together.

Re: JEST/Texans: who are you rooting for?

I really want to see this game, as a long time pats fan i want to see the jests Crushed, destroyed, umiliated. I want to see my former binky from '10 JJ Watt smash sanchize into little pieces like humpty dumpty. Then i want to go over to JI and read all the whining and finger pointing. This could be a great night of schadenfreude, it may be almost as good as the pats winning yesterday.

if you live closer to NY then heighten das shadenfreide by tuning into Jets postgame on Ch 60 - these guys are actually pretty balanced (Ray Lucas at least) as they tear into losses with passion and glee..

That's enough out of you

While "Asteroid" was tempting, I live close enough to the Meadowlands here in Manhattan that it would take me out as well, so I'm going with securing the Division and picking the Texans.

Let me think.

The Jets win ...

Nope. Not happening.

The Texans win big and it's of epic proportions in such an embarrassing way we'll talk about the game for years after....

Yeah. I want that.

Can I get a clarification please? I'm tempted by the asteroid option, but I really have nothing against the Texans; they are just a strong opponent.

If I select "asteroid" can I specify that the Texans' portion hits the Rats in addition to their own portion?

Thanx in advance.

The Jets have no chance regardless of the outcome of this game, so rooting for them is actually beneficial for the Pats long term.

"Asteroid" should be the mandatory and default option on all polls! :D Of course, my realistic choice and expectation is a laughable Jets meltdown. I shall sleep like a wee babe this eve :p

I disagree.

Winning the AFCE isn't going to be an issue. We have arguably the best 2 QBs in the division. The AFCE is absolute garbage.

If jets could actually beat the texans, they would actually be something to think about division wise. Since that is not going to happen, we can only hope for a thorough shellacking at the hands of Houston.

But you have one team that won't make the playoffs and isn't a threat, and another that the Pats are trailing for homefield advantage (still an important component of playoff success if you're not the Giants).

I've resigned myself to the realization that looking for help from other teams brings more grief than it's worth. So, aside from accepting that the Patriots should and must stand or fall entirely on their own efforts, these days I focus on more probable football pleasures, chief among these being the perennial misery of the Jets. To me it is as if there's only one team on the field, if I can even justifiably call it that, a team that I expect to entertain me in the funniest way imaginable! :D

Is this game a win-win for this team and fan base?

Scenerios........

The Texans destroy the Jets and win .......You see the continued demise of a franchise and it's head coach live on national TV,you may see the benching of the GQ glamour boy in favor of the modern son of God,you see the Jets sink to the bottom of the AFCE and an offense that becomes the laughingstock of the league.

The Jets shock the Texans and win.......A Jets win keeps them temporarily in the AFCE race and give Rex new hope but also puts the AFC Conference closer and up for grabs as the only unbeaten AFC foe goes down and all real contenders like NE and Baltimore move a game closer

Is it better to see the Jets or Texans win?

If you look down the line, this game might mean the difference between a bye week or wild card game since Houston is in charge of its destiny early in the season

No one thinks NY can do better than 6-8 wins anyway,so does it really matter regarding the division?

My opinion says that since the Jets have virtually no chance to win this division,we might as well hope the AFC dominant team in Houston slips down a peg.

Or the Jets win with Tebow as QB and the Jets Mgt has a major meltdown. Can you see a QB contreversy in NY? Talk about sitting back and watching. It would be a circular firing squad..

Do the Texans break 50 tonight ...

I love watching the Jets this year. It makes me feel better about my team.

I try to be a good person. I was taught not to revel in the agony of others.

But my parents did not know about the Jets when they taught me those lessons. So, I want to see the Jets get crushed and enjoy all that comes with it for weeks.

Please forgive me.

Arise, PATSNUTme, for thou art blessed :D
