Slight O/T: Joe Benigno on WFAN

Beningo only rants when there are high expectations and they fail to live up to them. Jets fans are in resignation mode at this point. I'm sure they all hate their team right about now.

I missed the Benigno rant due to circumstances beyond my control, but it sounds as if I don't need to go back and listen to it, so I'll just wait until Francessa at 1pm for my Schadenfreude needs.

Also, given the makeup of that Jets offense, why the hell hasn't Tannenbaum made calls to the following players:

Jeremy Shockey
Plaxico Burress
T.O.

Yeah, they're old. Yeah, they're a trio of real pain in the ass players. And, yet, they'd probably all be upgrades over the garbage that the Jets are putting out on the field right now. It's not as if "bad guy" or "team chemistry" are arguments come into play here. This is the team that just signed Aaron Berry, after all.
They will be lucky to get to 5-11. Might as well lose with the young guys instead of the retreads.

Been reading your posts for years, I even agree with you once in a blue moon, but I almost always appreciate your general intelligence and ability to support your position even when I disagree with you.

This, however, was the most fascinating thing I've ever seen you post, to wit, you have a "need" to "revel in the misfortune of others." Gotta say, it's a bit disturbing there, counselor ...

The NY Rats; the team that Pats fans love to hate, and the team that Rats fans hate to love.

:rocker:

A huge part of being a fan of any sport is reveling in the misfortune of others. Honestly, if I only cared about the Patriots and couldn't give a crap about whether any other teams win or lose, my NFL experience wouldn't be nearly as fun.

That trio, along with the return of Hill and Keller, gives them a group of receiving weapons that a team at least has a shot to win with. They'd go from having the worst receiving group in the division to arguably having the second best (as much a product of the poor receiving groups in the division as anything else, but it is what it is).

How many wins that would translate to with that stiff of a QB under center is, unfortunately for the Jets and their fans, another question. They've got to do something, though, because Holmes is reportedly out for weeks.

Also, Mike Francesa hates the Jets so probably not too much schadenfreude there. They only nice word he's ever said about them happened in the Parcells era.

Nothing to be disturbed about, I assure you. This is sports, not real life, and I listen to WFAN quite a bit anyway, because local radio offers really poor choices from 10-6.

He's carving up the Jets, but in a cold manner. It's not a rant as much as it's been a dissection.

I'm very happy when the Patriots win. The next thing that makes me happy is when the Jets lose. They can't lose enough. They can't have enough misfortune to suit me. I love reading the Jets boards after a loss like this.

So you can count me as another one who revels in the agony of the Jets and their fans.

I do draw the line about wishing injury on Jets players. I was not happy to hear about Revis injury. But Holmes, Scott, and Cro are different stories. They are punks. So if they get injured, like Holmes yesterday, i don't feel bad for them at all.

Now if that makes me a bad person in your eyes or the eyes of others, then so be it. I have enough other good qualities to make up for that one, if I can think of them.

That's pretty standard for him. He'll never get upset at the Jets embarrassing themselves since he's a huge Giants fan.

I'm surprised he's not talking about the Yankees.

He's doing that now.

"Mo Wilkerson is in the witness protection program because I don't know where he is" LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is hilarious!

WFAN is a comedy gold mine after a Jets loss.
