I don't know about you guys..but in the SB days..i would get pissed when they would lose..now after losing those past 2 SBs and the jets playoff loss, I don't really get that mad anymore. Especially in the reg season week 3. But still get very mad come playoffs. But those losses have numbed me to losing as to where i just say oh well...where as before i would throw stuff

Really? Not me, I feel like we have something to prove, like fate is against us. There is still and always will be a hole in my sports heart for the SB loss in 2007. I was deployed and miserable and the only thing I had to look forward to were Patriot games and the 2007 season really kept me going until we lost the SB and I had nothing to look forward to. Flashback a year from that and we should have been 2006 SB champions, but we blew a huge lead to Manning in the AFC game and lost. No way the Bears were stopping us as we had already taken them behind the woodshed once earlier in the season. I know, I know coulda shoulda woulda but we really SHOULDA had 5 Super Bowls in 7 years and it sucks. Then we had that horrid Jets loss with our #1 seed and our painful Super Bowl loss last year to the Giants, again! It is depressing and I will never EVER get used to losing! Every loss sucks! We have something to prove and Brady's hands should be stacked with SB rings, he has had so many opportunities but he needs more! I don't want any arguing that Brady and his New England Patriots were the best ever, I don't even want Montana and Brady to be in the same discussion, I want the Patriots to go out with a bang these next few years and I want Brady to have more SB titles than any other QB in history. Because of that I will never be on with that. This is our last shot at something great, something that happens maybe once in your lifetime. Maybe when Bill and Brady are gone I won't be so upset with losing but not here, not now, this is OUR time and we need to make up for all those post 2004 playoff losses!

I get your passion for wanting Brady to be viewed as the best ever and all that, but that's not something I care much about. I just want the Pats to win games, period. That means Super Bowls, of course, but I just don't care much about the individual player or coach legacy thing and I don't care much about which QB some people think is the best ever or whatever.

As far a losing getting easier, losing sucks. But, the Giants have shown that a mediocre regular season record can still lead to a Super Bowl win or two so I don't worry about a 1-2 record, especially in the AFC East.

This loss pissed me off more than any regular season and I may even say play off loss. Simply because of the awful officiating

Losing became very easy as I have been a fan since the early 70's...

Many folks here are spoiled by this team, and since '01 we have watched unparalled football excellence..

It still bothers me, but always have to put it in perspective as I realize how lucky I am to be a fan of this team...

This game..week 3.. pissed you off more than last years SB loss? Really? Hell the Ari game i was more "pissed". We played balt..a good team who may get a 1st round bye with the texans this year

That is why I want to win so bad, because we are at the end of
our prime and this is our last big chance to do something great before the inevitable slump comes! Don't get me wrong, I don't think the 70s will happen again, the money has changed, the game has changed, the fanbase has muliplied, and the Patriots are an elite brand with a better history than pre-2001.

I understand where you're coming from. I was livid as hell after the Cardinals game because we forced a damn fumble and then managed to recover it with great field position, but a questionable call on Gronk which negated a Woodhead touchdown got me steamed... and if that wasn't enough, I didn't even get to watch the final possession of the game. I wasn't so mad at Gostkowski blowing the game-winning FG, but damn! Get your **** together, CTV (I live in Canada, that's where most Patriot games are aired)...

I think I know what he means. I was more disappointed by the playoff losses but this one had me angrier.

i was born in 88 and started watching in 96..so i have seen some losing teams..but most my life 2001 to now i have been so spoiled..idk what i will do when brady and belichick are gone...

I'm of the same mindset. I don't think the NFL will embrace another coach as Belichick's skill and intelligence, his work ethic and approach to games, but his legacy can be emulated to a certain extent - a foundation for future head coaches to follow, but consequently for other teams to follow as well.

I guess we'll both have to enjoy their contributions to the Patriots while we still can, whether or not we win following Superbowls - because after that, we will probably all be wishing for a chance at even making the Superbowl. Not to say that future Patriot teams won't have a shot at making the big dance, but it'll be tough to deal with as we'll all come to fully appreciate what both Brady and Belichick have done for the Patriots. :(

Every playoff loss has really.

Especially when the team goes 14-2 or 16-0 destroying half the teams on the schedule, then lose it all in 60 minutes. Really takes the meaning out of regular season games. I just have to avoid watching ESPN and I'm fine, a little pissed off but nothing that bad.

Taking losses is a bit easier for me too,but then I realize that each loss could factor into complacency and another lost season and another year without a championship with Brady getting older by the day.

We should probably be expecting the Pats to suck into mediocrity for at least a few years in a row or so after Brady retires.

I am just sure that I am not ready for another round of suckage just yet....it's actually scary to think about.

The only positive suckage will get in here is really seeing all the bandwagoners jumping ship and exposing frauds from the real fans who stick around and go with the punches, like I did several times in the early and then late 90s

at least when that happens we will find out who the real fans are

Without a doubt

You want to see what a REAL fan is really all about ?

Go to a Browns fans website and look for a poster who has 10,000 or more posts and is a member of that website for more than a few years.

That my friend,is as loyal of a fan as there can be.....no fake ones there,I assure you there are some in here, especially those 20 years old or less who never experienced suckage as a fan yet.

oh i know once brady is gone and belichick has retired they will suck for a few years..will be tough but every team goes through it

That 2007 SB lost really changed my outlook on sports, for the better now that I think back on it. I still wish they would have won, but that game was not good for my heart, it definitely made me change how I looked at sports (not that serious anymore).

Something about this thread smacks of A Clockwork Orange.

I got way too wrapped up in 2007 and was very upset after spygate and the SB loss. I had to step back and realize the NFL, though the best sport to watch is a business owned by billionaires. I still really enjoy the game but don’t get as wrapped up in it. On the good side I enjoy all NFL games now far more rather than just the Patriots games. The fact that these billionaire owners let those crap refs out there shows we shouldn’t take it that serious as it is a business, a business someone else owns. I will say the Patriots doing well helps January pass and by the time of the SB, spring is 6 weeks away.
