Replacement Refs - It has to be said.(Merged X7)

Regardless of how bad the refs were, our defense was garbage.

No pressure on Flacco, leaving McCourty in one on one situations, allowing Ray Rice to roam free.

How can you tell? The pass rushers were tackled on every play. Pass interference calls were by roulette wheels. I am still not sure that the Pats actually even lost this game because I am still pretty sure that was a missed field goal. According to the rules the ball must travel entirely through the plane of the outside edge of the goal posts.

Re: SuperBowl 47: JAGS Vs RAMS

Could be a large fine and a 1 game suspension at worst
Just pray if he is suspended its only for the bills game, we dont want to go into the by 1-5 or 2-4(bills,broncos and seahawks coming up)

Has BB ever been that mad before? The refs are the ones that deserve to be fined and suspended...

Re: Replacement Refs - It has to be said.(Merged X3)

That's total crap, and you know it. The NFL is an industry. A MULTI-BILLION dollar industry. It cannot afford to watch it's product get trashed like this. No matter whether you are a fan of either team or not, A LOT of people watched this game and will walk away saying WTF  on many of the penalties. This was a prime time game, and the officiating was horrendous. Even the commentators were trying to "compose" themselves.

This is more then about whether the Pats lost game 3 to drop to 1-2. It really is. It speaks the the integrity of the game.

You know this multi-billion dollar business is the reason we are in this predicament with no end in site? As fans we should do more than just vent on a message board if the league is going to take the fans concerns seriously.

Re: Replacement Refs - It has to be said.(Merged X5)

I heard somewhere that the real refs got paid around 5,500 per game last year, which equates to what? about 30-40 thousand per game?

How much do you think those zipline camera's cost? probably more than an entire squad of officials makes all year, playoffs included.

bottom line? Goodell is trying to play hardball with the locked out refs, and it has (in my opinion) cost the patriots 2 games now.

Im getting really ******* tired of this, the real refs not only need to be given exactly what they want right now, but Goodell needs to be fired for being such a moron.

He'll get fined, but he won't get suspended.

Especially since the NFL really, really would prefer for this to go away quietly.

The Billionaire NFL owners need new ivory back scratchers and love the replacement refs who are doing a fine job. Kraft is on board with the lock out isn’t he?

The game had 26 penalties, 220 yards of penalties, and 13 penalties that resulted in a first down.

I'm still trying to figure out what the issue was with that. From that camera angle you can't tell if he even touched the ref and the ref shows no ill feeling about what he did. I thought NBC was spreading poison there.

Hi everyone...the board OVER-REACTER is here...I bombarded this site about these incredibly inept refs...IN PRESEASON!

I'm not going to let this ref crap rent the space in my head that Goodell wants...enough was enough in the third preseason game...certainly after last week's incredible debacle throughout the league, any sane person could see this idiotic "ref" issue needed to be rectified ASAP ,as in last week.

Tonight was just the cherry on top of the worst day of reffed NFL football I've ever seen..and I go back to the Jim Nance/Babe Parilli days.

This whole league has become a running joke. Dodge the player strike bullet and you plow straight ahead like a blind rhinocerous into this incredible sinkhole involving Division 3 college refs...at BEST...it's a total joke everybody. I have no idea how things will play out but one thing is crystal clear...they may have NFL players on the field, they may have NFL coaches on the sideline, they may be playing in NFL stadiums...BUT...this is NOT NFL football. This is all the work of one little beady eyed, power drunk, absolute moron.

And yet this is one of the calmer posts of the night! Agree completely.

I was at the game tonight and it was just as bad in person as it sounds that it was on TV....I was getting texts all night about how bad the officiating was from people watching on TV....On a couple of plays I just watched Torrey Smith the whole play and our CB would make contact within 5 yards and then not touch him again and the flag would come out....This was absolutely atrocious.....I was calling for Goodells head at the game.....The thing that pissed me off the most is these crybaby ravens fans were saying how they were the one's getting cheated and the officials were on the Pats side.....Ridiculous.....Oh and BTW I was standing behind the scoreboard that the ravens were kicking into and I could see the kick and it was NO GOOD!!!!!

We'll see the truth when the all-22 endzone view comes out.

I don't think Belichick will be suspended if that is what you are inferring. I think he will get a hefty fine though. I seriously doubt the NFL wants to make a bad situation worse by suspending a head coach because he was upset and looking for clarification after a horribly officiated game.

I would say expect an unprecedented fine, but no suspension. It could be a six figure fine.

100% correct. I can count 2 Ravens drives that would have been killed if it was not for ablsolute bull crap calls by the refs. PI on McCourty when he never even TOUCHED the reciever just to name one.

But I bet everyone keeps watching and this is why Godell will never fix the issue.

Me? I just sold my tickets to a game next week. I will not pay to see this garbage. Did the Pats leave some pays on the feild? Absolultey.

Did the refs have a huge hand in deciding this game? Absolutley.

I love the Pats, Im a totally obsessive fan and I never get this upset at a regular season loss but this was total BS.

LOL..you can't even see if he actually touches him

That's the one you complain about the most?? McCourty totally hooked him before the ball got there.

I am not talking about the very last PI that was an absolute correct call and the worst play of McCourty's night. I'm talking the one on 3 and 14 where McCourty at about 7 yards just to establish where he was laid perhaps a finger on the receiver. That call was SO ticky tacky I was screaming at my TV. I don't like blaming refs and normally as long as they suck for both sides I can deal with ****ty calls but tonights were SO bad for BOTH teams that I'm up in arms.

Re: SuperBowl 47: JAGS Vs RAMS

You can. And I think the league may send a message to all head coaches to stop bullying the refs by fining Belichick big time. That is why I think it could be an unprecedented fine. The refs are getting bullied by coaches and players.
