I'd forgotten that talented lineup.
Loved the epic Bledsoe/Coates vs Marino passfests back then.

Ray Crittenden BOOYEAH going horizontal to make a diving catch....I think maybe for a TD....too bad Pats lost that game

Phew! I thought this was a "Why don't we sign Vincent Brisbee" thread. All I remember about Micheal Timpson is that he was involved somehow in exposing the "Patriot Missiles" in the early 90s.

Virtually every game had a number of "Bledsoe to Coates" comments from the announcers. It seemed to be every 3rd or 4th play, and it was almost unstoppable. Coates was the Gronk of those days.

Heh....... and NO!!!!!!! :rocker:

But I'd take a cloned Stanley Morgan in a heartbeat.

As an outside, downfield threat - yes;
as an overall, dependable, all-levels-of-the-field threat, then I'd take Troy Brown.

I was in elementary school back in those days when I officially became a Pats fan! Brisby was one of my favorite guys to throw to in Madden 94...also I miss blitzing with Chris Slade off the edge. I'd also like to point out that Leonard Russell visited my school one day and when I got home my dad broke the news to me that he actually wasn't any good. :D

I must have missed something. Why all the Vincent Brisby posts? Did he die?

Troy Brown, Drew Bledsoe and Scott Zolak were talking about him last week on the radio when they were reminiscing about their days with the Pats.

Gronk is the new 87;)

If memory serves, Timpson was the receiver who hauled in that Bledsoe pass in overtime to beat Miami at home in the '93 season ender. It was a legendary moment that heralded a new era in Patriots football. (I was there.) :rocker:

YES! Was there and had a perfect view of the play. Ahh, memory lane.

I sort of added some fire to this old thread.

Out of no where, I googled Vincent Brisby, and then wondered what he might be up to these days as a search online didnt really bring up much, but it did bring me to this thread

VB sucked but he was the best we had. He'd be 4th on the depth chart of the practice squad if he was around today.

These last dozen years have been the best, and you'll never see them again, appreciate it.

Last year, Big Play Clay would've been our best safety. And I'm talking about the 2011 Willie Clay not the 1996 one ;)

So was I and it was on my birthday none the less! :rocker:

That is crazy. We all love Troy Brown, but he wasn't half the receiver Morgan was. If Morgan played 15 years later he would be in the HOF.

What is this? The Attention Deficit Disorder thread? Great, you can start a new thread with a random name and it immediately runs to five pages of posts.

Ian, I think that New England Patriots Fans featuring News, Stats, Analysis, Messageboards & Forums, Patriots Blogs, And Salary Cap Information for Fans. - PatsFans.com ought to replace the "Like" button with a "Please refill my Ritalin prescription" button.

Look! Shiney!

I'm sorry....... what were you talking about?

What's this.... we're not allowed to talk about old Patriot memories on a Patriots board?

Huh, weird, seems like this'd be the sorta place we should;)

Hell, if you compare Morgan's stats to some receivers, even from his era, who are in the HoF, you'd realize he should be in. (Or they should be out.)

Agreed, and he was putting up those numbers in an era without the Polian restrictions to protect receivers....... :rocker:

This isn't even a contest. Morgan had 4400 more yards playing behind lesser talent at qb and stronger running games. Can't even imagine what his numbers would of looked like with Bledsoe and Brady as his QB. I'd probably guess hall of fame worthy though.
