Belichicknumberone: No one--no kicker in the history of football--has ever made 100% of his kicks. No one. But let me ask you this: Have you always succeeded in whatever you've tried or been paid to do? Unless you can prove that you are perfect, you need to have a little tolerance. Human beings are flawed.

Well if i was making 3mill a year to kick a ball i would be dam sure i had the balls to make the ones that count. Do i think ghost lost us the game? sure. Do i think he was the only one? Hell no. Brady is so awkward in the pocket its disgusting. Forcing balls to BL going to his first or second read cause he is tap dancing in the pocket cause our OLINE is Pop Warner worthy. If Brady aint spreading the ball around we aint winning. For people to sit here and give slack and excuses to a pk when he is making 3mill a year is freakin mind boggling. Make the kicks that matter or find someone who can simple. 3mill to make field goals do your job bottom line. :bricks:

That sounds like my sixth grade teacher as she tapped her big ruler on her desk...and just exactly what are you going to do about it if it does?

You've been a pats fan since 74 you say right. Did you take the BB era off? Im sure he wasnt saying he would do anything he going what BB has done in the past if you cant do your job then your gone. Welcome back to pats nation!

if your making 3mill a year to kick a ball through the uprights you better make every kick. Your getting paid 3mill a year to make field goals not choke when it counts. I dont think the Pats are paying him 3mill to be happy with 4 outta 5 fgs and miss the one that counts. 3mill people do your job or get lost. I dont get how some of you are ok with him missing the final kick cause he kicked 4 earlier. If your getting paid 3mill a year you bet your ***** you better be making every kick specially the ones that count. NO EXCUSE :bricks:.

This is the dumbest post I've ever read here. Name one kicker thats made 100 % of the kicks attempted? He's the only person on offense that scored most of the points, please.

You forget how bad Brady and the offense was or Gronk for the hold right?

I don't think you understand Belichick at all.

As long as Gostkowski puts up the kind of numbers he has put up since his Rookie year, Belichick will never cut him loose because he misses a couple of important kicks.

Belichick is all about consistency and performance over time. Gostkowski was four for five yesterday, making all of his longer kicks. He's too much of a professional to say so, but a close look at the snap and hold indicates that the ball wasn't positioned correctly. I think Belichick is probably at least as exercised at Danny Aiken and Zoltan Mesko as he is at any one else.

Any suggestion that Steven Gostkowski "can't do... [his]... job" is way off base.

I don't blame him. I blame the play calling. When you are on the 20 yard line with a minute to go and two timeouts, you don't depend on the kicker over your hall of fame QB. You try to score a touchdown or at least gain a few more yars to make it a very easy field goal.

The Patriots proceeded to make the field goal longer.

Sorry bwagoner i addressed the tap dancer known as TFB in other threads this thread is about the choke artist we call Ghost. Guy made 1 big kick in his career how many game winning or tying kicks has he made? Its not about making 100% its about making the ones that matters. Think the heat down there is affecting your thinking. Yea i expect every kick to be made sorry guy i dont think so. I expect the big ones to be made when y9our getting paid 3mill a season.:bricks::bricks:

If hes not making the ones that count you think BB will allow that lol? He hasnt had to make a important kick but 1 iirc since he was drafted. :bricks::bricks:

Gostkowski is a great kicker and has shown as much in past seasons. Mistakes happen. I'd sooner blame 60minutes of sub-par Patriot offence than a split-second miskick from Gostkowski. Never really understood the mentality of getting on a good players' back after one mistake. Don't see anybody calling for Gronk's head after the holding call (never a foul IMO) for Woodhead's TD.

Show me a veteran kicker with a 100% conversion rate.

Show me 1 time ghost made a clutch fg besides the 1 in ot a couple of years ago. Make the kicks that count or go play soccer.

Your one of those super bi-polar fans that's all hooray when they win but "they suck" when they lose.

Spoiled dimwit.

If you can't handle losses and bad games, go watch keeping up with the kardashians or something, that seems more your speed with all of the BS and drama you're spewing.

Show me one other "clutch" FG that he ever missed.

2006 playoff game at SD: game winning FG with 1 minute left.
The following week in Indy: 43 yard FG with under 4 minutes left to put us up by 3.

Now show me a clutch FG that he missed before yesterday as requested by Sciz

You'd like me to show you a kicker making a game winning Field Goal behind a Tom Brady lead Offensive unit that is usually up a couple of scores closing out the game? That's not the smartest thing I've read today.

Perhaps we should blast Mesko for having his punt blocked? That's never happened in the NFL before right?

I don't mention this much, but I actually knew Vinatieri and did his website from the time he was a rookie until right before he left for Indianapolis. I remember the week he missed his first game winning kick against Kansas City (back in I believe '99) and how upset he was after it was over when I talked to him. It happens to the best of them.

UPDATE: Here's the recap from that game:

Obviously he went on to become pretty clutch, so needless to say I think those who are ready to start talking badly about Gostkowski may want to keep that in mind.

Hit the left upright if I recall correctly.
