Just because they said it doesn't mean it's true. It could be true or it could be a convenient excuse. I wouldn't be surprised if Welker is pissed about not getting paid and is holding out of preseason games to reduce the chances he gets hurt. I wouldn't blame him either.

I don't think Welker or the Patriots would lie about a member of Welker's family dying. And if he was holding out of preseason games to reduce the chance's he gets hurt why doesn't every player in the league playing for a contract do the same thing?

So he was a holdout of two preseason football games, yet last night attended the charity event of the owner who has so terribly bargained with him 'in bad faith' regarding his contract?

Sorry those two things don't mesh.

What will the sports talk mediots talk about today, particularly enjoyed the highly intellectual reasoning of Gresch and Zo, who got a lot of mileage out of "listen to his voice", "why did he make this comment?", "he deliberately said"... etc.

The only receiver in football who had a better season than Welker was Calvin Johnson, he received 120+million dollar extension. Offering Welker less than 17 for 2 years is pathetic, suggesting that is bargaining in good faith is ludicrous
